I'm struggling to get over what we saw today. The amount of gaslighting, cruelty, ignorance, abject cowardice, arrogance, indifference to human life, and deceit we saw from Trump and Vance...we saw behavior we associate with enemies of the United States inside the Oval Office. That's traumatizing.

A disgraceful day.

We don’t admit people to the hospital for quarantining. They can do that at home. The many kids admitted to the hospital in Lubbock have severe respiratory complications from measles. Stunning ignorance from highest health official, embarrassing really.

And to think we could have had a sane, serious government run by an intelligent person who would have acted in the best interests of Americans, and not Vladimir Putin.

Donald Trump has disgraced the United States of America in countless ways since he first entered political life ten years ago. But he had never disgraced the nation as badly as he did today. He has brought shame on this country to an extent I had never thought possible. And he has only just begun.

Respect to President Zelens’kyi for going on Fox and saying sensible things at a time when that is rare.

No need for other words.

It bears repeating.

Pathetic. Shameful. Cowardly. Disgusting. Trump and JD Vance showed the world they will enthusiastically reward the aggression of dictators and don't think freedom is worth fighting for. They are setting fire to Reagan's "City Upon A Hill."

Coming out of a bit of a news break whilst in L.A. and this is quite the hard re-entry: the president of Ukraine being lectured like a child by the U.S. president and vice president who want to steal his natural resources and hand chunks of his country to Putin. I have never been so embarrassed.

Trump and Vance are part of the tiny percentage of Americans who sympathize more with Russia (4%) than Ukraine (62%) and who view Putin more favorably (75% unfavorable) than Zelensky (28% unfavorable) today.yougov.com/politics/art...

Remember.

Putin and Russia are the bad guys. Zelensky and Ukraine are the good guys. Trump has us siding with the bad guys. This is like if Roosevelt told Churchill that if he’d just let Hitler have the rest of Europe, everything will be fine.

Recorded live from Fordham Law School, Crooked Media’s @strictscrutiny.bsky.social podcast hosts @leahlitman.bsky.social, @kateshaw.bsky.social, and @profmmurray.bsky.social explored the controversy over the prosecution of New York City Mayor Eric Adams and other hot-button legal and political news.

💯

Good morning. It's Blackout Friday. Not a dollar towards the oligarchs who are holding our Republic hostage. Not a penny for those bending the knee to a fascist authoritarian. Give them nothing.

I liked it better when we fought against the Axis of Evil, instead of joining it.

I continue to subscribe to the Washington Post because of outstanding reporting of its journalists. At first sign of Bezos’s heavy, partisan hand altering news coverage, I will cancel my subscription. I worry for all the journalists there who deserve a champion. open.substack.com/pub/margaret...

Day 1 on the left. Day 2 on the right. Don't let anyone tell you that pushback is pointless. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202... www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

I pointed it out recently but I want to note again that Musk and his racist pals consistently post photos of any women or nonwhite judges who rule against USDS, while ignoring the equally large or maybe greater number of decisions against USDS where the judge was a white man and/or Trump-appointed

R’s have the votes in the House to cut Medicaid. That could/should change. Voting for the “framework” might be easier than voting to actually enact Medicaid cuts, but R’s won tonight. We will fight this in Senate but it will come down to people outside of the capitol being sufficiently pissed off.

House Republicans just voted to gut Medicaid, which covers 1 in 5 Americans overall, including 41% of births and 63% of nursing home care. They also just voted to gut SNAP, on which 41 million food insecure Americans rely. This won’t just harm people. This will kill people. They own this.

These are frightening times and frightening times call for active, courageous leadership. Every time one of us (a family member or a senator) takes a step forward in this fight, a thousand pairs of eyes watch and learn. Courage is contagious: indivisibleproject.formstack.com/forms/organi...

Yeah, when I think of Trump’s foreign policy, where he frequently contradicts himself and the most senior members of his own Administration on a daily basis, I think of someone who “chooses his words carefully.” Vance has Trump ass-kissing down to a science.

A set of countries hates us; another is bewildered/dismayed/horrified; a third group is laughing at us; and the last group is working the angles to fleece us by flattering the weak-minded senile dope who occasionally shows up at the White House to sign stuff. NOBODY respects us.

Dear Europe, Trump completely melts under pushback. So push back.

WI Supreme Court candidate Brad Schimel supports banning abortion in the state with NO exceptions for rape or incest. If you care about abortion rights, make a plan to vote for Judge Susan Crawford on April 1st.

I present to you the next deputy director of the FBI!

Tillis is up for reelection in NC next year.

It’s really gone to his head, hasn’t it?

So much corruption. So much danger on our roads heading our way.

Brilliant segment on the vital role the NIH exercises in advancing Alzheimer’s research to unlock future treatments. Strong and very recent bipartisan support. Well done and thank you @maddow.msnbc.com

somebody somewhere ;-)

know one thing, Trump isn’t going to dig Elon’s 34% approval rating dragging his ass underwater like an anchor indefinitely. Because that anchor is firmly attached to Trump.

GOP votes down @senadamschiffz.bsky.social amendment “that would exempt federal firefighters from the ongoing hiring freeze launched by the Trump administration and reinstate firefighters who have been laid off as a result of cuts to the federal workforce,” per Senator’s spokesperson.

No, but if you’re looking for one, I am aware of a guy you work with that was indicted four times and convicted of thirty-four felonies.

Trump isn’t going to end the war in Ukraine. He’s going to make it easier for Russia to keep what it stole and greenlight Putin to go after other countries.

Wait until her people find out what she does to puppies.

what happened to day one?

The Times spoke to people being trapped inside a Panama hotel after deportation from the US and the individual stories of horror are almost too much to bear www.nytimes.com/2025/02/18/w...
