Just an insignificant comment: I can not understand how a well-educated person, ie a good friend, can “like” an Erick Erickson post on Substack. (And he voted for the T-V ticket) but still? What on earth!!! Are we in 1950s China???

I can’t remember who it was, but a journalist once wrote of feeling like something weird was going on during an interview with Carter, who’d respond to every question with a long, drawn-out pause. “I then realised that what he was doing was thinking.”

I just cannot wrap my head nor heart around absence of voice from the legislative policy wonks. Where’s the vision of not leaving anyone behind?

The challenge: how to keep those who are disenfranchised from manipulation by the ambitious and greedy.
