Me pasaba lo mismo cuando volvi a vivir a Valencia... no entendia por que en un octavo aparecian cucarachas.

So, what I want to say is, Elmo + all that crap the US is doing is very front and center in the English speaking internet bubble, but as soon as you go outside of it it gets less important, so people won't be jumping ship because of people they don't care about 😬

Very few people know that bluesky even exists! not sure how it was in the US, but in Spain twitter was at the center of the conversation for years. News/political commentators even had sponsored sections by twitter to push people to join.

Well, I had more engagement here from the get go vs twitter where I had more followers and have been posting for longer. It is also very evident when you start watching any Spanish content creator that they don't even come across bluesky posts in their entire stream

I think if you are in our (yours and mine) internet bubble, bluesky is a better replacement, but for many others it is still tricky if your main source of income comes from "being online"

There’s still a big divide between people who follow the news and speak English vs the those who don’t, which makes it hard for creators to leave their audience behind. I was skeptic of this but have seen examples of people who try hard to be here but they still have to post there 🥴
