To be sure: what they actually understand is LANGUAGE. If you ask it to summarize an article, it will. If you ask it to tell you the difference between any two articles, on a surface level, it will. It understands what words mean and how grammar works and how we humans use them... and that's IT.

I think it's simpler than that: people don't know the difference between capitalism and commerce.
Even under socialism, we will have commerce. What we will/should not have is an entire class of ppl whose entire reason to exist is to gather the wealth produced by labor and hoard it for themselves.
