When Earth has freed itself of money, markets, and libertarianism, it'll be invited into the Galactic Conclave. You blockheads shoulda been done with this shit 1000 years ago.

Tombstone! Saw it at the Eglinton Theatre in 1993! This is the sort of thing my memory retains. There's no money in it; I do it for love. (And possibly for a brain worm.)

More like Depression at this point. Funny thing is, I also think Canada and Europe will emerge from this just fine ... We have plenty of responsible trading partners who will ALSO want nothing to do with the States until the Republican Party is dead. Why trade with an untrustworthy partner?

Having two simultaneous presidents (and counting?) sounds super duplicative too.

Piracy it is.

Every single discussion I've had here in Toronto regarding Trump's belligerence has included some musings about how to make Molotov cocktails and roadside bombs; and about the bravery of Kyiv's people in '22, with invaders at the door.
If US soldiers came here uninvited, a LOT of them would die.

It's easier than improving themselves.
I was a stupid young man once, but my idea of edgy back then was David Letterman. Stanning for Trump or Musk is just pathetic.
And they don't even have the leaded-gasoline excuse.
Long Covid or Cape Cod brain-worm, maybe?

They need to get in line behind Yukon, Nunavut, and NWT.
So more like 4th territory.

Gee, we'd better not rile them with reminders that Taiwan has been an independent country for 75 years.
On the other hand, their current military has precisely ZERO experience actually fighting any kind of war, so I'm getting strong paper-tiger vibes here.
But I'm sure they have nice boats.

And even if it's on course for a direct hit, the DART mission proved that we can redirect these things. It's also much smaller than the Didymos binary, the asteroids that were already successfully diverted. As long as we can launch rockets, we're safe from this particular rock.

Math and physics are predicting it, not AI. The uncertainty stems from its current sky position, where the sun's brightness is interfering with accurate readings. Its orbit will take it behind the sun soon, but its course will be much clearer when it reemerges in about 4-5 years. (cont.)

I find it shockingly absurd that anywhere in the USA could be R+17 in a world where the R party hastened the suffocation deaths of a million Americans. And where they're actively trying to beat that record.
If you're still Republican, you're some mix of evil, crazy, and stupid. No exceptions.

Thank you for not ignoring how ridiculous these creeps are. There's far too much "Oh woe, how ever will we combat these devious supermen and their flawless plan!?"
Gimme a break.
Yeah, they're dangerous. But they're also, ultimately, hopeless and absurd.

Anyway, Dad grew up under Mussolini, and said he never voted for a conservative, in Europe or North America, because according to him, the end result of conservatism would ALWAYS be Mussolini or worse.

My Dad died last year at 97. An Italian immigrant, he worked in the US from 1960-65, then moved permanently to Canada. But he still got a small US pension for 30+ years after retiring. I assure you, the US checked on him *diligently* every few years to make sure he was still alive.

Yeah, now it's straight treason. The traditional punishment for that's just a nominal fine, right?

The Associated Press will be surviving and thriving long after Trump, Musk, Thiel, Yarvin, and Vance are lying in their urine-saturated graves.

The 2008 crisis affected us relatively little in Canada, because we have much stricter mortgage/banking rules than the States. It'll be tougher this time, but we're still poised to weather the storm fairly well.
We're far from perfect, but I still think we have lessons to teach.

Meanwhile, his "demands" are really rallying the Ukrainian people. I speak the language, and I haven't heard average Ukrainians this angry and insulted since the actual invasion. I do enjoy unintended consequences.

Fuck this guy.
And, sincerely, fuck the USA. You guys are nothing but trouble these days.
I hope Zelensky ignores Hegseth like the non-entity he is.

It's just Four Eyes now, for the duration. If this traitor thinks we're telling her a goddamned thing, she's dreaming.

Of treason, no less! He's going down; we just don't know which route he'll take to get there.
