My grandfather (born circa 1900) had polio as a child and a lifelong limp from it but thankfully could still walk. He would definitely advise yes to the vaccine.

We had an elderly man ring our landline repeatedly about prescriptions. I rang him to let him know and had a chat then we worked out that the GP pharmacy number was one digit out from ours.
