It’s not about changing how we evaluate students. It’s showing them why and how generative AI is terrible for them. Showing them what it’s stealing and how it’s robbing them of the privileges of humanity.

My current and last university had a no questions asked food pantry. I’m glad it’s there, but I’m also frustrated we created a world where that’s necessary.

I’ve always told my students that food, friends, sleep, and rent come first. Can’t get a degree if you’re hungry, tired, lonely, or insecure.
