Oh look, the AP posting a story during the last 24 hours on how more and more Americans are turning anti-ICE after firsthand experience of seeing them in action… apnews.com/article/immi...

Your avg White Northerner may have been ambivalent about slavery, philosophically but not practically opposed to slavery, or even mildly pro-slavery (look at all the money it makes!).
But then they saw first-hand the corrupting power of slavery via that law. Much like we're seeing it with ICE...

And when my kids read the fine print* of the Fugitive Slave Act? Ooooh, they get perplexed and mad.
*The accused were presumed guilty and couldn't testify, no jury, judges basically got bonuses for finding "fugitives" guilty, everyday people could be impressed to help slave catchers

And for the other side of the coin: Jerry West played in 4 NBA Finals Game 7s. He lost them all. Three of them by 3 points or less.
His averages in the Finals Game 7s: 35.2 PPG, 8.8 RPG, 5 APG, 47% FG, 80% FT
His regular playoff averages: 29 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 6.3 APG, 47% FG, 81% FT.
Poor bastard.

For example on that play where Chet drove on Turner.
Buddy, if you drive like that you need to either go straight up with some quickness or have the footwork to maneuver around Turner or the size to move somebody physically

I had a FedEx package that was scheduled to be delivered between 10:30am and 2:30pm on Saturday.
It was delivered at 11:45pm.
At that point just send the driver home. I don't want that man driving exhausted and overworked at that time of night!

Other European colonies in North America were not polite by any means, but they certainly had more coherency than the English colonies, which was a motley unorganized adventure prioritizing ingenious grift rather any sense of real authority and protocol.

That’s from an NBC story of the FBI searching for the Minnesota assassin. Way to blend in with the Ford pickup, fellas.

I get Jared Golden doing what he do. Swing district and all that jazz.
Schumer makes nooooooo god damn sense. Besides being a loser.

Me and a co-worker gripe about this all the time. Stop running presidential campaigns and win state, hell even LOCAL, offices to acquire leverage and power.
