Scholastic had this note on the outside of their “diverse collection” for our book fair. The other two pictures are the books in the collection. How are any of these possibly offensive? Scholastic has a monopoly on book fairs (it’s not even close). This is their chance to stand for what’s right.

The segregation of “diverse” book into their own category is really maddening. As a middle school librarian, I’ve enjoyed the increasing representation in Scholastic’s catalog. I’m not directing students to the “diverse” section of the book fair!
