Pete Hegseth just ordered the installation of a makeup studio at the Pentagon for him to prepare for his television appearances, which will cost thousands of taxpayer dollars to build.

To say it once more today: I think you'll be moved if you take 2 minutes to look through 269 institutions signed on here. Yes, still a few notable absences. (Where is Stanford?) But such an array of *presence.* Big and small. Public and private. World famous and barely known. Check them out.

FDA Commissioner Marty Makary refuses to directly say that parents should vaccine their kids against measles

these people hate DEI because they would be unemployable in any system where they couldn’t rely on favoritism and nepotism

Why not 100%? 100% sounds cooler.

Top headlines today at the Wall Street Journal. This is just the past 24 hours

I hate the way media fall back on the word "controversy." MSNBC just called SignalGate a controversy, as if there's a rational debate over whether sharing military secrets with a journalist and your wife is a good or bad thing.

$11 an hour, 10 hours a day, seven days a week, in the Louisiana summer sun! Time to make America great again, Trumpers. Those blueberries aren’t gonna pick themselves* *now that you’ve deported the immigrants that used to pick them

A common term to describe the U.S. president has been “leader of the free world.” Have you noticed that no one uses that term any more?

Look, I think trade wars are a bad idea under any conditions. But if you're going to do it, you'll have the most leverage if you're keeping your friends close. Instead, Trump is fighting the world's second largest economy while picking fights with those ranked 3rd - 193rd.

Is it possible Trump made a run to Home Depot?

To a Washington journalist, the story is always a horse race.

Serious point: This might be the most interventionist American government in my lifetime. The price of just about every good reflects the good thinking of the Commissars in Washington DC implementing their 5-year plan for National Greatness, rather than market forces.

Whether you love or hate tariffs, you can't help but be impressed at the detailed policy planning, the transparency of the policy process, the credibility of Administration announcements, relentless attention to detail, flawless execution, and the thoughtful predictability that business demands.

Federal spending is *up* under Trump according to the Wall Street Journal. Chaos is not actually the same as cost savings. Actual budgeting is a kind of actual policy-making and takes real work spread over real time. Running around breaking stuff isn't that. www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

When you pay the extortionist, they always come back for more.

why is *every* newspaper/programme running with the headline "tariffs are paused" when they haven't been. What's happened is that every country (except China) gets a flat rate of 10% for 90 days.

This is driving me crazy too. Not long ago 10% universal tariffs were considered the worst-case scenario, something even Trump wasn’t crazy enough to impose. Now have those PLUS 125% tariffs on China. Together, these raise raise inflation by about as much as original “Liberation Day” tariffs did!

NY Times actually used “lie” in a headline
