I might be misremembering, but I think there’s a public single occupancy one at Mexikoplatz.

During our trip to Germany (and Austria) in 2023, there were many places with single occupancy non-gendered bathrooms. Maybe this is what he’s talking about?

And V for Vendetta. Hell, probably most of Alan Moore’s graphic novels.

Reminds me a lot of the approach on reading that’s common in Mexican elementary education. “Stop reading fun things, real reading is (stack of super boring books)” which I think is why most Mexicans despise reading.

My rent shot up 3x about a year after the 2017 Mexico City earthquakes. They haven’t gone down, though there’s hope the anti-Airbnb legislation might finally fix this.

TBH the cyberpunk dystopias I read about or watched in the past seem to depict worlds that are somehow LESS dystopian than what we’re getting. Yes, megacorps rule, but there’s dense urban planning, proper mass transportation and useful tech advances. Our reality lacks that, only the crap.

Some regions are former independent kingdoms forcibly annexed by Castilla (which later renamed itself to Spain), and some of the folks there are still not happy about it. Basque and Catalonia are the ones where independent sentiments are still there.

Mexican here. Yup, most of the worst is in the border areas, but I’d first check the US State Department advisories for specific areas. Mexico City is mostly fine, while most of Michoacán is a no-go zone.
