a.) We need younger progressive political leaders who know where and how to actually reach young men b.) Progressives need to talk about issues that sound of 2025 and not 1996

Ugh. I truly believe they want us to be sick because it’s to their advantage.

I was thinking of that scene! But wondering if the trope started even earlier?

Definitely too many career politicians who don't have a lot of fire and don't have much of a clear vision for the future.

Pull every possible lever and make Trump work (his least favorite thing) for every possible win. Make this the longest, hardest, and worst four years of Trump's miserable life. END RANT

Make him fight for every inch. Stall in Congress, take him to court, give Trump random scandals to worry about and distract him. Don't accept anything as inevitable.

It's tougher this time around because Trump has a legion of determined Nazis and Project 2025 goons to place executive orders in his hands every five minutes. BUT - Dems nonetheless need to aggressively challenge everything.

5.) Challenge everything - one of Trump's biggest weaknesses is that he is lazy, and also that he's an idiot.

One thing that people like about Trump is that he is aggressive in challenging the status quo. There's no reason Dems can't do the same. Here's a start - talk about Citizen's United and getting money OUT of politics. I think most people will like the sound of that.

Start talking about the Democratic platform for 2028 now, and be vocal about not just a return to normalcy, but an even better future to come.

People are going to be increasingly upset about the economy, about climate-related disasters, about gun violence, about Trump stripping away helpful programs like social security and Medicaid, and the list will go on ...

4.) Build a platform - of course, Dems can't just be the anti-Trump party. Build a platform NOW for 2028.

Never stop trying to exposed him for what he is (and same goes for Musk - who in many ways is a much easier target - and same goes for every other crackpot criminal in the administration).

Do everything possible to bate and humiliate Trump. Because as much as he has been teflon, part of the problem is that we keep collectively pulling back just when we might be able to deliver a knockout punch.

I was encouraged recently by CBS/Paramount taking a stand against Trump and his 60 Minutes lawsuit, and aggressively demanding visibility into Trump's finances as a part of the legal proceedings. This is what all entities drawn into legal fights with the Trump administration must do: be aggressive.

Find those Epstein files. Re-post all of Grimes' very public Twitter feuds with absentee parent and deadbeat dead Elon Musk, who's got an insane number of kids from multiple women - most of whom hate him.

3.) Get dirty - the days of "they go low, we go high" are over. Trump is a criminal, so treat him as such. Call him a criminal, call him a rapist, call him a Nazi, call him Putin's little %$#&. Dig up every piece of still-buried dirt on Trump and Musk you can. Get personal and get nasty.

And by the way - leaders like Kamala Harris and Barack Obama need to be out there, actively part of the resistance. It makes things seem decidedly non-urgent if people like them seem content to stay on the sidelines. This is all hands on deck.

When Steve Bannon stands on the CPAC stage and gives a Nazi salute - scream about it! Make it 100% clear that supporting Trump means supporting Naziism. And act like your country is on the line, because it is.

2.) Get angry - do not, ever, normalize Trump or Musk. Call them out as Nazis, as white supremacists, as criminals, as would-be authoritarians. Don't act like all the crazies in the Republican party are a sideshow or a distraction. Don't be dismissive.

And on that point, the time for any Democratic infighting is over. I can already hear people responding to this post saying they hate AOC. Or maybe there are other young-gun Dems who you don't agree with on certain issues. Get over it. Any of them is 1000x better for our country's future than Trump.
comment in response to post
And start working NOW on your 2028 ticket and leadership, and do so in a way that isn't fighting against the tide. AOC has become the de facto leader of the Democrats because she is out there every day vocally leading the fight. So don't fight her, embrace her.

Dems need to do a daily briefing to the nation that quickly and cogently breaks down Trump's daily lies and abuses of power. Post it all over social media. Speak through a unified voice in a way that's easy to understand.

1.) Get organized - we need a leader and we need a plan. Democrats can't fall into chaos just because that's the kind of environment that Trump fosters.

I doubt she knew she had COVID. But they should have done testing prior to the event.

Have you read the study?

I read the study, and that's not what it shows.

I didn't think I would like it but I think the use of more blue is cool. Has grown on me the more I look at it.
