Yes, I've seen that drawing, and seen HEMA experts using the whole length of the blade. But that isn't 18trh century fighting, which was mostly done with sabers, rapiers or other thin blades. The point the original quote was making is that Tariffs hurt you as much as or more than it hurts them.

Remember, this announcement came minutes before the closing bell on most American exchanges. The real freefall will start tomorrow. Time to get the put orders logged and short sell everything you can in afterhours. Good luck, and hold onto your hats. See also: Tom Petty "free fallin." Thanks Trump.

A prominent politician of the era once described tariffs as "striking at your enemy holding your sword by the blade." I think it was Ben Franklin, or maybe John Adams ? Memory fails, but I think you get the point I'm trying to make.

You're being divisive! . . . by wanting to make improvements over the status quo. Wanting to end systemic white supremacy is "anti-white racism". Welcome to Wonderland.

They hope to terrorize the Ukrainians into surrendering. This is a grave error in judgement. Putin does not know it, but he is sowing the seeds of his own destruction.

I have to swim upstream here, somewhat. Having an artist (writer, actor, whatever) turn out to be a less-than-estimable person sucks, and often makes me look at their works in a more critical light, but I don't go around lying about it saying "I never liked _____ to begin with.

The USA is full of fun place names, like the one made famous by Bob Seger -- Nutbush City.

I've seen a couple episodes. Tom Hanks is narrating quite well. But, the parts I've seen are a bit too much killing.

Being an unattractive person myself, I wish popularity wasn't based at least partially on appearance. It isn't fair to the person the critique is aimed at -- the standard being applied here is impossible to meet anyway. Then there are the pedophiles, who want the 11 year old "Elle". They can fry.

Well. . . they are in fact something like scones. However, they can also be consumed as the centerpiece of a meal -- gravy with crumbled sausage in it poured over top of biscuits. Or -- scones. It sounds worse than it is.
