Boras has been horrible but the Mets really seemed to lowball him nonetheless.

Not at all. Boras has done a horrible job but the Mets seem to be lowballing. As of now, the team is not better than last year.

As the team currently stands, I don’t think they are as good as last year. Pete and a bit more pitching help would certainly change that.

That Opener was a classic. Freezing cold but everyone chanting Ga-ry on the way out.

That’s more than fair. At 30 per, I would think he would take it.

Still seems like a long way off. It seems with Pete’s market diminishing they ought to be able to get this done, which Heyman seems to agree with.

I didn’t think it was going to happen. Until it did!

That’s right. I had forgotten about that little tiff. And Jacobs had gotten off to the hottest Mets start since Jefferies or Vail.

Yeah, I was harkening back to Beltran/Delgado/Pedro. I think that was the same offseason. Maybe Delgado was a year later.

Pete, Manaea, Iglesias. Baty’s not a free agent but I wouldn’t let him go either. This is developing into the most fascinating offseason the Mets have had in a long time.

Probably the fifth starter. He’s had success in the past, not so much recently, kind of like Severino and Manaea. Agree on trusting Stearns on this move.

This show never gets old.

LOL, I will then. The 1986 Division Clincher. Doc’s two consecutive starts with 16 K’s and no walks in 1984. Taking my kids to their first games (Olerud hit for the cycle in my daughter’s first game, against the Expos).

Game 6, Game 7, Dykstra home run, Matt Franco Game, first game I went to in 1972 (Seaver vs. Carlton and seeing that green grass for the first time), many Opening Days (Alberto Castillo and Gary Carter stand out). Bobby Jones one hitter. I could go on.

That was fun though. Thanks for introducing it!

That was tough. The relievers were surprising.

Indeed!

That’s an eerie card as he never got to manage that year.

I was there with my daughter as well. I went to the 2016 Wild Card game with my son. That was brutal but he ended up to the Pete Alonso game in Milwaukee!

It certainly was.

The airbrushing always cracks me up. In this case a home Mets uniform in St. Louis.

Just ate at the Bitter End last night.
