An inspirational panel, one that really clarified what's at stake, and why we need to meet the threat Reform poses. Let's tell Farage and co. that their attempt to use racism to deepen inequality will not wash in Birmingham. Onwards to Friday indeed!

Rachel Reeves is right that the world has changed - so why won’t she change her strategy to reflect it? Rigid adherence to arbitrary fiscal rules & refusing wealth taxes is a political choice that’s causing huge pain & harm, as well as laying out the welcome mat for the populists at Reform UK

"...3 Americans own more wealth than the bottom 170 million Americans. Those 3 people stood behind Trump during inauguration. That is an Oligarchy..." Bernie Sanders

I honestly cannot express how awesome it is that the DoD was putting out these statements at the literal exact same time that the Secretary of Defense was negligently transmitting classified information on an unsecure platform to a journalist. It's just utterly amazing. What a time to be alive.

Well done whoever made these.

This is a truly fascinating read www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

I'm talking at this tomorrow at 17:45, central London outside the Treasury: Tell the UK Chancellor to Tax the Super-Rich secure.waronwant.org/page/167449/...

We are asking the UK government to halt its plans to expand airports. Airport expansion has NO place in a climate emergency. Sign and share the petition: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/71...

I wonder if Trump is studying what Erdogan is doing? Might be very useful information for Trump as he slowly tries to make the USA into an authoritarian state.

It should be obvious by now that Netanyahu won't stop until every Palestinian in #Gaza (and perhaps the West Bank) has been murdered, maimed or expelled. He wants it all. Governments like ours should cut off all military equipment, diplomatic support and other relations until the genocide ends.

🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 Lammy calls the resumption of Israeli strikes in Gaza ‘a dramatic step backward’ & Starmer expresses 'deep concern' about the lack of humanitarian aid. But until the UK govt stops selling arms to Israel, these are just hollow words. Meanwhile in Birmingham today… @wmpsc.bsky.social

Two weeks from today: Birmingham's first @betterstreetsforbirmingham.org "Circle the City" cycle ride. It'll be fun, inclusive, and make the point that you don't have to own a car to get around our city. 6PM, Victoria Square. See you April 4th!

The Fairness Report by @friends-earth.bsky.social has been released. Want bolder & fairer climate action? Read the report to see how this can be done & sign our petition! Link to petition: tinyurl.com/mr5fufkv Link to further info: tinyurl.com/3mhe7f9e Link to fairness report: tinyurl.com/52h86m73

While we don’t take pleasure in passengers’ misery, there will be quiet skies above Heathrow today and blessed relief for everyone in the surrounding area. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/live...

Germany did destroy itself almost a century ago. It wasn’t because it took in too many migrants. It was because it fell for arguments uncomfortably close to Vance’s.

In Birmingham City Centre this afternoon? Keep an eye out for our busy bees! Say hi and sign our climate petition - actionnetwork.org/petitions/te...

A big thank you to the hundreds of you who have signed our climate plan petition so far. Next week we will be handing our petition to Birmingham MPs. So please make the call stronger by adding your name if you haven't already: actionnetwork.org/petitions/te...

Thought this article in the Observer explained the new proposals on welfare very well. www.theguardian.com/society/comm...

The Health and Disability Green paper will deliver tiny income gains at the cost of major losses for those with health problems or a disability. Restricting PIP qualification to save £5bn would mean between 800,000 & 1.2 million people losing support of between £4,200 & £6,300 per year by 2029-30.

We're in London today with a big old bus to tell our Govt this country cannot afford cuts. Instead they should tax us, the super rich. A 2% wealth tax alone could raise up to £460mln a week. @Keir_starmer - invest in a fairer economy. Patriotic Millionaires say Tax Our Wealth

Usual dreary dull boot licking this morning with Pat McFadden. One of the main reasons for our escalating costs of benefits is a result of declining health conditions for many ppl. So why not forecast really hard on improving ppls health? www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c0...

Making economic growth the overriding purpose, to which all else must be sacrificed, not only trashes ecological and social values. It's also spectacularly bad politics. Governments can't control growth, but when it dips, this government, by its own criteria, fails. A rod for its own back.

The choice could not be any clearer. Do you push 700,000 people into poverty by cutting lifeline benefits? Or do you get a grip on the extreme wealth being hoarded in this country? This IS a choice, and the Government knows it.

Labour MP Richard Burgon raises looming welfare cuts during PMQs, criticising the “easy option” of cutting benefits for the poor and vulnerable: “So instead of cutting benefits for disabled people wouldn’t the moral thing to do…introduce a wealth tax on the very wealthiest people in our society”

Furious attack on Birmingham Labour leaders by veteran activist www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midland...

Read this article in the Birmingham mail about Martin Brook's no holds bared account of the failings of the labour council leadership.

It's very hard to believe that the top ppl in Reform would ever have a row? www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
