It’s in effect saying, “the countries of the world can export any record amount of fossil fuels, as long as an appropriate amount of “green" iron, “green" ammonia and other “green” products are traded.
At no point in this process are net zero emissions of CO2 achieved.

But @frankjotzo.bsky.social , a tonne of exported green ammonia doesn’t remove from the atmosphere the CO2 added by a tonne of gas or coal.
This is not “net zero”.

I just heard her say “There is no starvation in Gaza.”
Didn’t really need to listen to anything else.

Yes, it’s woeful misinterpretation of the question by Lowy Institute.
You’d think they’d have worked that out by the fact that answers to this question remained steady but there was a 20 pct point drop in trust of the USA, so that for the first time more distrust than trust it (by a wide margin).

Mind you, as the occupation of Gaza will always provoke a violent response, no matter what happens to Hamas, the war on Iran is more insurance than anything else.

It doesn’t need to be a “plot” to be totally inappropriate language.
It’s not a common cliche. It’s a common malapropism.

“As if”. Some students and staff complain "anti-Semitic" behaviour makes them feel uncomfortable, govt & lobbyists complain any criticism of Israel is anti-Semitic, and then someone who can’t be anti-Semitic is sacked for criticism of Israel that makes some students and staff feel uncomfortable.

Don’t feel bad, Greg. Absolutely no-one else predicted it either, in the known universe.

Is there a network of NLC-watchers in the southern hemisphere for the southern summer?

And I saw something on the TV news tonight that reminded me of apartheid South Africa in the 1970s, that led not only to massive suffering but also to international action that eventually forced that country’s government to abandon apartheid.

Do you think that the Lib/ON preference arrangement made a difference to the outcome in any of the states?

Yeah, not many in the media seem to have caught up with that last one yet.

More importantly, how bad do you have to be for your party to be 7 points BEHIND Farage’s on vote intention across multiple pollsters, and 15-47 seats behind Farage’s party on seat projections?

Tragically emblematic of university teaching…
