"This approach represents a significant change from previous competitions, such as the Women’s World Cup in 2023 in Australia and New Zealand and the men’s World Cup in 2022 in Qatar when messages were shown in the stadium on big screens and on social media." Yes, I remember such messages in 2023.

No, his two (related) war aims are to stay in power and stay out of jail. If the two aims specified below were accidentally achieved, he would need to find a new aim and likely a new war. As Orwell showed, perpetual war is the greatest friend of the tyrant. theconversation.com/netanyahu-ha...

'Some folks inherit star-spangled eyes Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord And when you ask 'em, "How much should we give?" Ooh, they only answer, "More! More! More!" Yo It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no military son, son It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, one'

Surely Channel 9's duty of care for their reporter extends to reporting accurately what happened?

My husband’s cell was getting calls from people thinking they were phoning a certain city’s police number. He was puzzled—his number doesn’t appear on any web page. Then he learned that if you Google “[city name] non-emergency police”, the AI overview hallucinates his number. Thanks, Google!

Since 1945 there've been 26 referendums to change the constitution. 5 were carried, 21 lost. For 20 of the 21 lost referendums, the government in charge won the next election (or won the election the same day). Amazing some thought the Voice referendum outcome was any guide for the election.

I saw something on the TV news tonight that reminded me of the blockade of Biafra in the 1960s, that led not only to appalling starvation but also to international action that made it illegal for any country to use starvation as a weapon of war.

"even without intervention, UTS was on track to record an overall profit in 2028. The sustainability drive would simply deliver this two years earlier...This suggests the issue isn’t sustainability but rather surplus generation." UTS uses KPMG to develop a redundancy plan in breach of the EBA.
