The N Sea is relatively shallow with a short fetch. Not an expert but not really tsunami territory or wave heights.

As a benchmark High Street opticians net profit margins are between 30 and 40%
comment in response to post
Companies that supply the NHS make profit - get over it! 30% is in line with what good companies should make. An alternative measure is are they better/more efficient than could be delivered by an NHS provisioned alternative? If it is then it is great value.

Not to mention the blinding brightness from screens on unlit roads. SAAB had an ingenious Night Panel feature that turned off any unnecessary distracting light. youtu.be/Xgh2zbifn7E?...

So you are saying no private contractors in the NHS. No builders, plumbers, electricians, medical gas service engineers, contract cleaners. No outsourced IT/cyber security. No outsourced car parking operation... Idealism doesn't cut waiting lists.
comment in response to post
Apologise. Or I report and you can go back to the other place.
comment in response to post
"a profit margin of 32%".. Is not profiteering. It is a fair margin for tooling and resourcing up to deliver such services. Disclosure: I have no interest in private medical services and use the NHS, not private healthcare. I am interested in increased efficiency in the NHS
comment in response to post
Lots of suppliers make profit from supplying products and services to the NHS
comment in response to post
Business balances buy Vs build decisions. Can we afford the time to tool up and hire or buy a ready to go service? Should the patients continue on a waiting list? Market forces dictate what a fair price is to buy. NHS buyers should know what is a fair price. Profit is not a dirty word.
comment in response to post
Profit less than 1% of NHS budget. How much would need to be invested to bring in house? How long would it take and what do you tell the peeps on the waiting list?
comment in response to post
Take your insults to the other place. Q. Does the NHS have the capacity and resources to do the work? Should the patients wait on a list until they do?

Thanks for this. Total savings across water, power, mail, pfi, less than £1 /day . Water less than 50p/ day. I am not convinced that the reward offsets the associates risks. Also is this where we should be spending time reorganising. Is it a priority.
comment in response to post
I just read and still don't get the answer I am looking for. The water co's massive dividends are not so massive going forward. UK plc would have to borrow at a similar rate, albeit we would own the heavily mortgaged infrastructure, which we kind of do anyways. You can hardly repossess.
comment in response to post
Of course it's relevant. It's the same for Water. I love the idea of public ownership. Show me the economics.

In Bosnia the dealer buys your used tyre. It is then sold as fuel for cement factories/steel production. Why do we transport to India.
comment in response to post
In Bosnia you SELL your old tyres Vs pay for recycling. They are used for fuel in cement and steel plants🔥 or recycled into heavy fuel oil.

They were happy (as was I) with the amount they signed for. They weren't ripped off. The compensation would be a windfall for the customer and a massive pay day for the lawyers.

comment in response to post
So what. Are they making an impact..do they bridge a gap and improve outocomes
comment in response to post
No it's not. The NHS doesn't design build coffee machines, scanners, X ray machines. There is a role for the private and 3rd sectors

Chat with a local estate agent: "Stamp duty on 2nd home more than £500k killing the market" But they can spaf it on depreciating assets like car happy to pay car tax + 20% Vat or just VAY handbags, watches, jewelry, depreciating assets like a motor yacht (+ mooring and maintenance £30k per year)!
