The most obvious lesson to draw from the leaked Signal chat is that these people really are morons. It's not a public act, it's not a schtick, there's not some secret back room where they drop the facade. They are genuinely stupid, incompetent people.

Musk told the Polish FM, a long-standing conservative ally of the US, "be quiet small man". What I find so fascinating about Trump, Vance and Musk's verbal abuse of Ukrainians & Polish officials etc, is: can you imagine them speaking like this to a Russian or Chinese official?

🎶It's just a spring to the forward AND THEN A FALL TO THE BAAA-AAA-AA-AAAAACK Change your clock by an hour AND HAVE A PANIC ATTAAA-AAAA-AAA-AAAACK But it's the mental math That really leaves you in shay-ee-ay-ee-ay-ame 𝙇𝙚𝙩'𝙨 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙮𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝘼𝙜𝙖𝙖𝙖𝙖𝙖𝙖𝙞𝙣

Repeat after me - this is the stupidest possible way to run the world’s biggest economy.

Enormous response to Mike’s post. If you haven’t read it…

If you worked for 18F and got fired, Group together to start a consulting company. It’s just a matter of time before DOGE needs you to fix the mess they inevitably create. They will have to hire your company as a contractor to fix it. But on your terms. I’m happy to invest and/or help

Perspective.

It’s impossible to escape the Trump news, even on the other side of the world. It was all the chatter overheard at coffee in Melbourne this morning. Aussies absolutely disgusted with America right now. Trump may be the face of it but the stain is, sadly, on all.

To me, the best thing about listening to Pat Metheny Group, is Lyle Mays.

Trump failed international politics 101. The lever is bigger on the friendly, helpful side than on the threatening, demanding side. His policy of negating support is just draining American power and future prosperity. Easily cost US economy $1T already.

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

The greatest political scandal today is not what Trump is doing. It is the fact that congressional Republicans have given up their role in the constitutional system as a check on the executive branch. If we are in a constitutional crisis, it is as much on Mike Johnson and John Thune as anyone else.

I feel like I'm going insane every time I see a media story about DOGE that doesn't also mention the fact that the Government Accountability Office exists and performs the exact function that DOGE pretends to, only in a credibly constitutional, non-partisan, and conflict-of-interest-free manner

One of our supporters shared this with us—people are getting creative tonight!

We deserve every minute of this, & we owe 🇨🇦 & Canadians apologies for the shameful behavior of our government

Nice to know that the US is now provoking the Canadians to sing their national anthem (in ENGLISH, in MONTREAL) with the same heart and fervor with which the Nazis caused Captain Von Trapp to sing "Edelweiss." And we said nothing good would come of a second Trump administration.

You know Kate Winslet in Contagion? Where she runs into a hot zone, risking her life, so Americans could be safer? She was an EIS officer. That’s who was just fired at CDC today. EIS officers. And many, many more public servants fighting every day for your health.

Dems should propose a law that immediately requires every fed agency to post on @bsky.app account, every outlay with a detailed description, $, and a link to existing gov sites with in depth details Rather than trying to keep Elon out, pre-empt him so he cant miss characterize spending.

i know these words but i do not understand them in this order

True.

I refuse to repost quotes and screenshots from articles without a link. Sorry, but when you don’t cite sources, I have to assume you’re hiding something.

In my hands is my new PlayStation 2. Ken Kutaragi is smiling at me. Everybody in the Best Buy is smiling. I take off my PS VR headset. I am back in the automated senior care facility. Nobody has visited me for 12 years. I put the headset back on. I hold my PlayStation. I am smiling, too.

The message of Trump tariffs to Britain: no matter how good a friend you imagine yourself to be to the United States - your only security against the malignity of Trump is to belong to a big trading bloc that can impose painful retaliation against Trump's trade aggressions.

In electing Trump, not once but twice, America has forsaken honor. We have abandoned all of our deepest commitments, to ourselves and to others.

I just sent this email to all 13,000 federal employees of the NOAA lol. The Trump administration's changes to their communications system made it so literally anyone can blast messages out to the entire agency

Been mulling this a lot lately. It’s not just that smart people mostly want nothing to do with Trump or Trumpism, it’s that incompetence is an actual asset, because these are folks who know with absolute certainty that Trump is their only chance of achieving anywhere near this sort of success.

As a free thinker alpha male one of my highest values is unquestioning obedience to authority. Boss knows best, that's why he's the boss

1/ I keep returning to one core thought: civics education really matters. It’s absence, at least in part, is what makes a Donald Trump and a MAGA movement possible.

BREXIT was such an unnecessary tragedy. Maybe one day they’ll muster the political will to re-join. I hope so.

It was never “America First.” It was always “Trump First.” From 2015 to present. What Republicans do at any given moment is what Trump decides that moment. Which could change an hour or a day later. For Trump this election was about staying out of prison, not a policy agenda.
