Turns out, even in fully automated gay space luxury communism, major executive dysfunction, memory issues, concentration and focus issues, etc, can all be extremely distressing! It's not just the capitalism!

I am 10000% talking about what you think I am

Yeah, the "this isn't a mental illness it's a SUPER POWER and you folks who are disabled by it are just stuck in internalized ableism and by saying it disables you, you are just contributing to stigmatization" crowd are NOT gonna like this book, but this book isn't FOR them.

The people who have this mental illness but enjoy having it probably are not gonna like the way the MC deals with it / manages it because it acknowledges a lot of medical stuff about it and the actual like brain chemistry of it. Oh well.
comment in response to post
I have written the MC to share one of my mental illnesses, a mental illness that quite a few people want to see removed from the DSM, which would mean I could no longer claim disability despite this mental illness disabling me, and could no longer get insurance to cover my therapy and meds and lol

They are barred owls, so it often sounds like they are saying "who cooks for you, who cooks for you all" and I'm also wanting to know who is cooking to see if they have some leftovers.

I know @layahimalaya.bsky.social and @merilliza.bsky.social are on here. I don't think GetCovers is here yet tho.

The illustrated covers are either by Merilliza Chan (Shades and Silver, Birthing Orion) or Laya Rose (A Lake of Feathers and Moonbeams and The Magic Surrendered). Stars and Soil and Smoke and Steel are by GetCovers, a design studio in Ukraine.

Unfortunately, yes, more than once.

Like I thought a lot of this etiquette would be common sense but it doesn't seem so, ergo I'm tempted to write up these etiquette norms. But yeah if someone posts "my book releases today! It's about XYZ! Here's where you can get it!" the proper etiquette is to reply w "amazing! Congrats! Well done!"
comment in response to post
There is an unfortunately large number of books I would have otherwise been interested in if the author hadn't done something like reply to someone celebrating their book launch with "my book is about the same thing! Here's a link! Buy it!"

Oh my gosh i have never heard of these books before but now I'm excited because they might end up being some new favs! Thank you!

If he fits, he sits. If his sits, it's cat sized. If it's cat sized, it's meant for him.

Yes! The Saint of Steel books are the only ones of the White Rat books I've read so far but I've been cajoling my library to get Swordheart & Clocktaur.

Hey Claudie do you have any recs for secondary world fantasy books with Escape Room shenanigans, focus on platonic friendships, magical wagons, released in 2025 that have table top side questing vibes?
comment in response to post
Yeah, I get that not every author is a voracious reader. But those usually are authors whose work I bounce off of / DNF.
