“If you want us to participate in democracy, you have to make it incapable of collapse.” 🙄

*That first word should be “something, not “sometimes.” Lol.

Sometimes I’ve always wondered about cyberpunk settings, incidentally, is do people with cybernetic limbs get phantom limb pain? Like would there be a sensation of feeling your old fist painfully clenching that you’d have to ignore to make the cyberlimb work?

Either way no power on this earth could make me pay sixty goddamned dollars for it.

Space Lockheed Martin *followed* by Space Gucci. I need more quality Lancer content in these dark times.

The sentence highlighted in that screengrab should be categorized as some sort of mystical memetic health hazard. That *hurt* to read, it was so stupid.

Do you think this’ll actually end up in front of SCOTUS, or will most companies just decide DEI is too much trouble? Don’t get me wrong, I *want* Bondi to get slapped down, but I doubt Raytheon’s sincere commitment to diversity.

What, and I cannot emphasize this enough, *the fuck?!*

I mean hopefully they can’t replace them with partisan thugs just as easily, but yeah. Losing half their agents is gonna put a damper on consolidation.

Also kinda like this faction. Dune without the weird eugenic shit. I’d probably play as Union, were I a player, but you could set a good story in the Trade Baronies.

I’m really enjoying these threads. I like reading about alternate universes instead of the horrors.

I, uhhhh, really hope they don’t choose to take his word on that.

This thread is convincing me that I should rewatch Nolanverse Batman.

On the bright side if all these cuts go through the likelihood of the army being deployed against protesters drops dramatically.

I’ve always kinda thought The Median Voter has just so thoroughly internalized the idea that “they’re all liars” that even genuinely alarming things don’t break through bc they think politicians just say things to get votes, no matter what the politicians are actually saying.

Commander, and no worries on that front. I look forward to working with you on this. 😁 In the meantime I’m off to my quarters to have a cup of tea, pore over some files, and turn in. It’s been a long day.

Hopefully “breaking” proves to be a strong word, but there’s definitely something happening and it’s what I’m here to look at. As for the Cerritos, their encounter with that alternate Lily Sloane couldn’t have helped matters in this regard

It’s clear enough most of these *people* aren’t threats (the Intendant’s… colorful past notwithstanding) but we’d still like to know just what’s going on. I suspect it might have something to do with that wormhole.

But rather worrying from an internal security standpoint, not to mention temporal and multiversal stability.

(Nods) not to mention the 31st century Starfleet captain, and that Klingon woman your chief of security apprehended a little while ago. Temporal and interuniversal barriers that should be holding strong seem unusually porous around here. Scientifically fascinating +

I’ve seen yours as well. Glad to be working with someone of your talent. If you’ve seen my record you’ll know my chief concern is monitoring multiversal incursions, and DS9 has been pretty interesting in that regard lately. This place has seen a lot of mirror incursions lately and command has+

Groan inducing, but genuinely funny, as usual. 😂 Don’t believe I’ve introduced myself (Holds out hand) Cdr. Ardan Crane, Starfleet Intelligence.

I hope you’re right. The faster this shit falls apart the faster we can move past it.

I’m def gonna give it a chance but a lot of the criticism I’ve seen doesn’t look like the usual “wOke tReK” bullshit. Consensus seems to be that it’s a shallow copy of Guardians of The Galaxy that glorifies war crimes. Bit ambivalent but I’m still gonna watch and see what I think.
