Yes, Reuters is not known for satire or for publishing stories without due diligence.

If it’s satirical, then NBC, MSN, CNN, and Reuters have become purveyors of satire. www.reuters.com/world/us/tru...

You give Musk far too much credit. His sense of humor is stuck in the fourth grade, not the seventh.

Speak fast. Speak over the interviewer’s fact-checking. Speak with forked tongue. Hope no one notices.

I should have included Senator Mitch McConnell’s name along with Collins and Murkowski’s.

I have the same situation. I need to pick up the dog poop in the yard, and while I’m outside I think I’ll scout out the entire neighborhood to see if any dog-walking neighbors were not prepared to curb their quadrupeds.

Given how many young women unaccountably follow old geezers like me, I have assumed that women get similar unwanted action from laddies. That’s a shame, but there are lots of people who post worthwhile material, so this site is still good. 🇨🇦 🇺🇸 🇲🇽

These are good guidelines. I had a bad experience right off the bat with DMs from an aggressive scammer, but that aside BlueSky has been a great source of news and insights from good folks. I am grateful for it.

You have to admire the astonishing insight of a genius who tells us truths we never would have discovered by ourselves. Who would have suspected that birth is a requisite for the survival of a species?

We need to rid the world of dead people, because they have stolen our ideas and expressed them better than we could do.

They’re champing at the bit to Make America Grotesquely Autocratic. Trump 2.0 is a program that has eliminated many of the bugs in 1.0, but there are still plenty of cockroaches in it.

“Still waters run deep.” I recall that when we were at LHS you splained to me that what that pithy saying means is that people who have profound thoughts tend to be silent. Being rather shallow myself, I am quite noisy.

What happened was that when someone told realDonald that the temperature would be 23°F, he said, “That’s not bad. We can take that.” But when someone told him the temp would be -5°C, he said, “No way we’re gonna stand out in that cold!”

Will they move the brass monkey indoors as well, out of consideration for its balls?

What @realDonald cannot grasp is that most Canadians are smart enough to realize that paying taxes helps make Canada among the most livable countries on the planet. Who wants to pay less in taxes at the expense of living in a country in which getting shot means medical bills leading to bankruptcy?

I never warmed up to “tweet” or the Mastodon “toot”. These days most of my posts vacillate between groans and whimpers.

I agree that it’s a friendly and informative space. The scammers are abundant but easily enough ignored.

I suppose the idea is that the less we know, the more compliant we will be. Let’s see how well that works.

This is dreadful news, but not unexpected. I’m just waiting for NPR and PBS to be banned in Trumpsylvania.
