Thank you. I keep thinking y'all (I'm Canadian) seem mighty optimistic about 3 things happening:
1. Having mid-term elections
2. Having fair and accurate mid-term election results
3. Having those currently in power abide by the results

All I know is having zero is insufficient, and I'm happy that our household will be remedying that in a few weeks! #rescuecat

Yep, the "pics or it didn't happen" era is sadly over.

My guess is two reasons:
1. Lots and lots of natural resources and *fresh water*.
2. Putin has Ukraine, Xi Jinping has Taiwan, and he wants to be like them and belong. His nearby options are Canada or Mexico. Canada is more white and speaks English= more attractive to him

And if you think that's a one-off, here's another example from a riding just north of Montreal: the Bloc candidate was leading by a handful when we went to bed last night.

Except that right now, it is useful, because it is pulling votes that would probably go Conservative otherwise

And there I thought Anne HΓ©bert wrote poetry and historical fiction! Hmm... I guess I can see why this title may have been excluded from my Catholic girls' school summer #reading lists πΏπ Added to my TBR! #booksky ππ

Those are phenomenal! May I inquire where one might acquire such footwear?

I'm not sure what message it sends that we would move a debate leading up to the most important election in a generation over a hockey game. Logistically, I get it, but it smells like "du pain et des jeux"

That's because we are not allowed to! Law's been that way since the early 80s

I get the same feeling, so it's why I get creative with the alt text: a human being will find it weird but understandable, but the words are garbage to inform a gen AI prompt.

I'm sorry, but that argument that 67% of Americans did not vote for Trump is weak. That 36% of Americans who didn't vote did nothing to stop him, either. And telling Canadians you'll take your country back in four years when he's done so much damage in two months is no consolation.

Can't wait to see the red carpet they roll out for him. They can always borrow the one we used for Rubio...

I agree that eliminating federal hurdles is useful, but we need to press our provinces to do the same, something which Legault probably finds unappetizing. Γa risque de virer en tirage de couverte, comme quand la TPS est descendue d'un pourcent et que la TVQ l'a ramassΓ© en entier.

Putin has Ukraine, Xi Jinping has Taiwan, and Trump wants to be part of that club. We are the more palatable neighbour to pick on (in his estimation)

Not a chant, but I would nuke the phrase "step foot in the ring". "Step" already implies feet. You can "Set foot" or "Step" into the ring all you want. Just pick one.
