I'm extremely happy with my Renegade. It's a Jeep in name only. Body by Chrysler, Fiat engine that has a surprising amount of oomph. FANTASTIC gas mileage.

Last I checked, there are only 7? vehicles still sold new in the USA that even have the option for stick. At all. This is one of the reasons I chose my Jeep Renegade in 2019 - it was one of the only cars on the lot that was manual.

In this metro area, I have exactly two shops that can inspect my car, for this reason.

In 2022, I had to explain to a younger coworker that "Faith" by Limp Bizkit was a George Michael cover. It blew their minds. They'd never heard of George Michael.

COPS: [spraying us with pepper gas] KIDS: OW FUCK AAAAUGH OLD PUNKS: [dragging them back and calming them down while choking on pepper spray] Breathe, here's a bottle of water, dump it on your face, breathe, we got ya.

You should try it! ESPECIALLY at our advancing age. Riots usually have a lot of kids whose futures are on the line. We can afford bail and attorneys. During the 2020 BLM riots, it was amazing to see so many people my age going to the front line to protect the kids.

Yeah, you gotta boycott for more than a week for it to have any impact. Y'all ready for that?

As of this week, I have ended the last of my MAGA friendships outright. I don't stay friends with moronic, Temu level Nazis.

I forget the name of the place, but there was a casual Italian joint that was awesome. Peppers and sausage were perfect, and they had Capellini Olio Y Aglio done right. BEST cheesesteaks are still in Philadelphia, but Pitts had some decent ones.

I haven't tried any, but I hear Pittsburgh also has solid Indian food.

Try some local dishes instead. Good Italian and seafood. Cheesesteaks are damned good too.

The press is barely saying anything about this. This is fucking huge unless people in Congress do the ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM to challenge it. And I don't think they will.

"Yeah well I still have the internet and ordered a pizza, I'm sure we'll be fine." Said the morons who, very soon, will feel the pain. Don't worry. It's going to affect EVERYONE in this country.

This is literally the opposite of what the founders envisioned, and what America has labored for in the last 250 years. If this doesn't alarm you at all, then you have no idea WTF you're talking about when it comes to politics. Trump just basically declared himself King.

People thought I was exaggerating or being a doomer when I said Trump wanted to be a king, not a president.

As a Gen-Xer, I was promised an earth-shattering kaboom. Where's the kaboom? This slow burn kakistocracy apocalypse sucks.

Texas gets hot in the summer, no doot aboot it. This is why we have a pool. Dallas also gets wintry weather. I actually liked the weird extreme weather for a long time. Over it now though. I want to be somewhere that doesn't have GODFORSAKEN SLUDGY HUMIDITY ALL THE TIME.

I was in love with Dallas for about 20 years. Even got a half sleeve tat of the skyline. It had its flaws, some of them glaring, but also offered some amazing things. Sadly, in the last ten years, the flaws have widened to the point of being unbearable.

Yeah, as a resident of the last 30 years, don't even put Texas on the list. I'm clawing to get out of here. Northern New Mexico is affordable (mostly) and gorgeous. Denver is alright, although some of the people there are CA level insufferable. Several family members have moved to OR and love it.

If I may, where ya looking at? And good Hakata style ramen can be found in a lot of places these days. We even have it in Dallas.

I can think of a few others. Good surfing at Carlsbad and La Jolla/Blacks, great food in Little Italy. Fantastic avocadoes. Quick trip up Hwy 1 to get to a lot of fun stuff. But the cost of living there was prohibitive for a kid working in construction.

The morning marine layer is something I miss from the year I lived there.
