PLEASE: Watch what happened in Coeur d'Alene Idaho today. This is fascism. Unmarked cops. 1A violations. RESIST.

"the reason [musk] does not do patents is because he would not be listed as an inventor as putting a fake inventor on a patent would kill it and moreover it would reveal the superstars behind the work" a thread that's totally worth your time 🧵 >>

This isn't just true for Americans - it is vital that we all hold the line and defend democracy. "I’m far from certain that staying engaged will make a difference. What I do know is that if we all tune out, there’s no hope at all" @sulliview.bsky.social

Trump posts a fake Time magazine cover with a crown on his head and a headline calling himself a king, while falsely attacking President Zelensky—who is courageously fighting for his country’s survival—as a dictator. This is sick and disgusting rejection of basic human values.

SCOOP: On his second day as HHS secretary, RFK Jr., the onetime environmentalist, killed climate change programs at NIH that research and prepare for the health effects of extreme weather and a warming planet. This is not going to make Americans healthy. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

A reminder: 1. Elon Musk's wealth is mostly in Tesla stock 2. Tesla is successful because at a key moment in 2009 the federal government gave it a $465 million loan so it could make sedans 3. Musk is now firing thousands of government workers and slashing every service ordinary people depend on

I worked on this story for a decade and he just said it out loud on Fox News

Senate Democrats have the power to block federal contracts to Tesla and SpaceX. It’s the path to pushing Musk out of politics.

Since the Washington Post didn't want you to see the anti-Musk ad with your newspaper, please check out this website and share it around www.commoncause.org/work/fire-el...

Favorite paragraph from this:

If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general. If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

At some point, I hope enough people start reading the room with these people. No one elected a king or a dictator, and he damn sure didn't have a mandate.

With traitors galore in our white house and congress

This is a good time to remind everyone that this administration hasn't done anything for anyone. It has literally only taken away things we've already paid for and fired and sued people. Oh and the quid pro quo with Adams. That's the extent of what they have done. Kinda nuts.

And on FOX NEWS, no less.

So, they are - illegally dismantling US govt, disabling Congress - burning our alliances, turning US into global pariah - reigniting inflation, exploding the deficit, unraveling US public health system - putting backdoors into Treasury This feels more like an attack on the US than a new government.

This is about as disturbing as it gets. When Trump says he plans to be a dictator, there’s no reason not to believe him.

Judges are going to have to start finding people in contempt, issuing fines and probably throwing some in jail.

My latest column: Trump's war on science will harm you www.latimes.com/business/sto...

The best way to fight back against Musk: Don’t buy a Tesla. (And if you own one, sell it.) The company was already in a precarious position before Musk launched his assault on democracy. A Tesla boycott would be devastating – and richly deserved. Me, in Slate 🧵

Tulsi Gabbard was just confirmed as the Director of National Intelligence (DNI). God help us all.

Appeasement, Trump style

wapo.st/4hSE7Ox Illicit and entirely kleptocratic

His buddy Vlad does it. His mafia buddies do it. So he wants to do it too. Trump thinks powerful people should just take what they want by force. And he's daring anyone to stop him.

Caption by Trump: “I CAN tell a lie; I did it with my hatchet job on the truth.”

This is — literally — unheard of in federal prosecutions. We can’t prosecute him because he’s a candidate for office? Wow.

President Trump ended a first-of-its-kind assessment of land, water and wildlife across the U.S. that its leader called "too important to die," weeks before the study was set to be completed.

Someone at the American Bar Association ate their Wheaties this morning.

What he said.

One of the best articles I’ve read about the age we are entering. And it touches on something that we need to discuss more: in authoritarianism it is *logical* to cede power to those in power. Or rather, it is seemingly logical. Ultimately, even after you give in, they’ll come for you.

I guess they don’t teach you much at Yale. But most lawyers know that what judges do is interpret the written constitution and laws to distinguish legitimate and illegitimate exercises of power.

Today we are all focused on what is happening to the federal government. This is coming next. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/the-...

Two lawyers, one Yale educated, one Harvard educated; one the VP, one a senator, suggesting that decisions made by courts aren’t legitimate if they don’t like the outcome. This is dangerous territory.

This is completely illegal. The reason it is being permitted is that the press refuses to say it is illegal, only describing it as contested.

The right thing to do is to put out a statement saying that Democrats will consider this to be insurrection against the US government and Constitution, and that those who take seriously their oath have 1 week to arrest and detain Musk or be considered offering him aid and comfort.
