I think the tariffs actually were a distraction this time. He clearly didn't like everyone saying he caused all those people to die in the plane crash. And now it's completely out of the news.

If Trump killed congestion pricing, it would only strengthen support for it in the places that matter: big cities run by Democrats. Not to mention NYC could blame their traffic on him. Would be good long-term IMO.

The irony of this is that the polio vaccine was heavily pursued partly as a result of FDR's diagnosis. And the irony of that is it might not have actually been polio and instead Guillain-Barré from a bacterial infection.

I really question the judgement of people who think our sleep-wake cycles will be defined by an arbitrary number on a clock. Whether DST is scrapped or made permanent, schedules will end up in the same place relative to the sun. The tail does not wag the dog!

I was once (a couple years ago) a skeptic of rental housing "filtering" -- the theory that new "luxury" apartments pull up higher-income renters from moderate-priced rentals, thereby benefitting moderate-income renters, and on down the line. I am no longer a skeptic.
