They think the wall of text is supposed to be impressive. No doubt written by someone whose college application was full of pointless extracurriculars.

I'll be putting all my money into gold ETFs in that scenario.

How will this look with (or w/o?) all the curb cuts?

Need to invent a metric like Wins Above Replacement in baseball that normies can pretend to understand to justify the new building.
"Yeah it's single-stair, but it's got a 23 lives-saved-per-fire above replacement rating."

To him, more money is the ultimate goal and not the means to an end. It's not rational.

Uncertainty is always great for business. Everyone knows that.

I'd be surprised if it was more popular among conservatives today. Early seasons maybe.

The bigger the capex, the bigger the profits. I thought everyone knew that?

Minimum average speeds should be the goal for pro-transit folks as well. Congestion kills the speed and reliability of bus routes.

Had the same thought. They had the fast casual spots all over town too!

People regularly drove to and from bars every weekend and then magically there was a safer and more convenient option and it was inexplicably banned. That radicalized me, honestly.

Rideshare might be the single biggest quality of life upgrade to come out of the 2010s tech boom and the city fought it as hard as they possibly could for no good reason whatsoever.

People are gonna want a new status symbol. Lavish honeymoons?

I've got that old Munger quote flashing in my head about "wonderful new inventions" that don't don't benefit the investors, just consumers.

Also, if Ohio State lost to Michigan on purpose, they are no worse off because of it. Oregon had to beat Penn St to get to the quarters. Ohio State just had to beat Tennessee at home in late December. It's a ridiculous set up.

Ohio State doesn't deserve better, but Oregon does.

They should keep the conference champ bye, but re-seed after the first round. BS that 1-seed Oregon gets stuck with who Vegas seems to think is the best team.

I mean the guy's big proposal to fix their inflation he used to get elected was to switch to the US dollar. That says it all.

Not to mention the short-termers are who would keep the desired neighborhood coffee shop or restaurant open.

This is why cities should be more proactive in allowing actual bed and breakfasts/inns in residential areas. I think most people on both sides of the equation would prefer the uses to be in separate buildings, and trying to ban short-term stays entirely just causes the demand to leak elsewhere.

A land value tax, if you will.

I'm sure this applies to the previous cycles to some extent, but so many projects were just sitting waiting for one thing or another it made the 'under construction' look higher than it was relative to the true economic impact. So the impact of the decline might be less than it would seem.

As part of commercial in residential, which it looks there is movement on already, I would like to see a cohesive plan for 'bed and breakfast' land use and short term rentals. There is obviously huge demand for the missing middle of small hotels in quieter neighborhoods.

But I didn't have to leave Bluesky to get all the info I want about it so that's good.

Poaching players and coaches mid-season is definitely an issue. And the loss of regional rivalries.
But more access to talent and championships for non-blue bloods makes the evolution a net positive.
