I could not care less whether he is able to walk down stairs. FDR couldn’t either. It’s ableist and unworthy of progressive voices. There are plenty of actual reasons to ridicule this man.

Thank you for sharing. I am an educator and want to get things right for my students. I struggled to find which of the flags is the preferred/more appropriate. I did research, but it was hard to find clarity. (example see article below) Your post helps. www.gateway-longview.org/post/junetee...

My mom just moments ago told me a story of a man that came in while she was getting a pedicure at a place that welcomes walk ins. They told him it would be 15 minutes and he freaked out, shouted at the owner, and stomped out. Privileged indeed!

“Welcome to the Papal Pick’em! Here’s your insider cheat sheet to the papabili—the nine cardinals most often mentioned as contenders to succeed Pope Francis. Pick your favorite, place your (friendly) bets, and let's see who rises to the top of the conclave.”

Still never paid for his first one as far as I know.

I haven’t been catholic for almost 40 years. Still, he was the one pope that seemed reasonable and generally humane.

I didn’t explain well- thinking of holding protest signs….

Really disingenuous headline! 2 people died! The 6 who were only injured are expected to recover.

As for the youth? They see that if they speak up or write anything they can be summarily arrested and even if here legally deported without cause. They cannot afford to be kicked out of school but colleges are not protecting them. They can’t afford bail or lawyers.

It’s worth thinking about the why if that. I’ve certainly seen discussions here and on fb by black writers talking about why they were not there.

Hi Zack. Thank you for sharing this information- can you tell me the source? I live near Minuteman and would love to call attention to this but would like to be able to say where the official information comes from. Thanks

Yikes! Freedom riders put their lives at risk. It took sustained effort to travel hundreds of miles to be in physical risk and give up hone, family, and jobs to do civil rights work that had focus and purpose. Yesterday we took no real risks and a few hours effort does not equal a freedom ride.

I was just posting though that they were peaceful because we were not challenged. The police were ok with millions of mostly white people in the streets. Our peace and safety were a privilege of skin color, not anything special we did.

I’m sorry. Hope things go the best they can.
