I grew up on a military base during Vietnam. I still have my POW bracelet as he’s still never come home. CMSGT Lawrence Clark. Visiting the Vietnam Memorial was moving, solemn, impactful. I found him on the wall. I grieved for his loved ones. Thank you #MayaLin #AAPIHeritageMonth

We live on the route of the Boston marathon ( literally can watch it from our backyard) and are considering holding signs on Monday. We know that a gazillion people watch and if we are there during the front runners might even get seen on tv feeds. But is that helpful or hurtful?

The only reason these protests were “peaceful“ is because police and authorities were amenable to millions of mostly white people walking in the streets. It’s great that we were safe, but keep in mind that in the long run real change is not usually achieved without risk.
