#A-Haydn-A-Day helps you work, rest & play! Day 93: Symphony No. 3 Happy Friday! Latest scholarship suggests this was Haydn's last symphony for Count Morzin before his new dawn at the Esterházy court. If so he left on a high: the strict-canon minuet and fugal finale are both mini-masterpieces!

Born #OTD in 1921, English composer, conductor, oboist, pianist & educator, Ruth Gipps. Output includes 5 symphonies, 7 concerti plus much else.
