I said as much in my comment, it's all academic anyway since as I said their point is moot But the point being made here is that there is no system for tracing images to the owner, and that is true. Finding the copyright holder for millions of images is not practical. Which is irrelevant to the law
comment in response to post
That's obviously always a possibility, but as I understand it, after Midjourney ignored two cease and desist letters from Disney and Universal, they are requesting a jury trial so that sounds unlikely in this case.
comment in response to post
And c) they clearly knew it was generating copyrighted images anyway, specifically Disney's property, so this argument is completely moot. Basically yes he is correct, but the logical conclusion to that is "you can't train your model on an unknowably large dataset" not "we don't know so it's fine"
comment in response to post
No, what they're saying is if you download millions of images there is no way to automatically find out if they include copyrighted images, and that is correct. However that's irrelevant because a) unknowingly committing a crime is still a crime and b) basically every image has copyright protection

I also entirely mirror your thoughts on customization, or the lack thereof. The term fashion souls is pretty common, and it applies to Destiny just as much. A lot of people who still play the game do it because we've grown attached to our little guy. That completely goes out the window with heroes

As a longtime Destiny player I was ready to not be interested in marathon at all, but this and some preview videos show me that it still has some really cool things going for it. Really great writeup, I am so curious to be able to try it out for myself, for better or worse.

the final episode was a bit of a let down for sure, however this is really only half a season as this was initially planned as 18 episode season. So i’ll reserve judgement until then. otherwise, some lame episodes in the beginning but after that it was really banger after banger imo.

I like taking pictures of Naoe hiding

my initial kneejerk reaction to it was *eugh* but then literally after actually using it for a while I think I prefer it.

It's absolutely gorgeous. And when the wind picks up or a sudden downpour starts happening, it becomes almost surreal.

Interesting.. interesting. Typing pocket printer into amazon as we speak.

What's your favourite song of the OST and why is it World's End Valentine www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlQd...

This is so good what the hell! The shiny latex, the chucks.. absolute perfection

This *is* the next game by the warframe devs so you are not entirely off the mark.

At best it's a gross misunderstanding of the technology or wilful ignorance and at worst it's intentionally misleading.

"with data trained on the artists’ own inputs." This "misconception" is extremely common and it annoys me greatly every time it comes up. They see that you can have the model output images based on sample images and they think that's "training" the model, which is not how it works.

I absolutely love how unhinged the ending of beekeeper is, I laughed a lot.

+1, KOOK looks awesome and you nailed Blue-tan!

I've only gotten to this part last year as well even though I've been playing for years because I can only take the grind in short bursts. But man, every time I get back into warframe I'm having a great time. What a ride it's been.

I swear every time someone quote tweets or even just replies to something horrible being like "omg this is horrible", all I can think of is "wow thanks for introducing this to my timeline!"

I am not even really into bunny suits but reverse bunny suits hit the spot for me

What I will say though is, there is no excuse not to entirely revamp the UI of the Switch because my god is it boring. I still regularly pull out my 3DS and Vita and hell, can we please have literally anything with a bit of personality

But saying it out loud, when is that not the case right? Being stagnant never got things out of a rut in the long run I guess. I don't know, I still get why they're doing it especially backwards compatibility is so important for people right now it feels like the right move no matter how I turn it

I was thinking more, with the state of the industry, Microsoft not being sure what to do with Xbox and just the general uncertainty of things it may be better to stick with what they know works especially since most people clearly want it. The next one can always be experimental again.
comment in response to post
Could be, but I read that more as a boiler plate "some games on the eshop made for the switch may not work on the new architecture since we cannot test over 5000 games to guarantee that".

I definitely agree somewhat and hope that eventually we will see more fun and weird from Nintendo, but at the same time right now is absolutely not the time to do that. It just does not make sense at all. Also they've always iterated for a while until they tried something crazy. I'm not worried yet

... all right fine I'll put it on the backlog.

it's mostly that. Even a short gif can be several MB big and as video it's a fraction of that while looking better. Rendering video is also more performant than gif. From a bandwidth and usability perspective it's really a no-brainer. I wish they still allowed gifs with a size limit but, you know

Plus I am actually somewhat dubious with how much they are banking on AI. I am in no hurry to upgrade.

That's the thing I also got a 4090 and the best CPU you could get at the time. The biggest issue in games over the last 5 years I've had is inherent problems of the games like traversal or shader stutter. Not lack of GPU power.

There is a problem with simply letting whatever essay you watch just be your opinion, but that's often the case. For me I can say I have learned about so many cool things and to appreciate art more than I ever have through video essays. It's just important not to just take everything in passively.

oh hell yeah let's go

not to mention one of the officially listed dongles didn't actually work initially.
comment in response to post
It is still crazy to me that they leave the problem of controller pairing to the consumer to figure out. Once you find a Bluetooth dongle that actually works well with it it's fine but man.. what a troubleshooting nightmare to let normal users just walk into face first.

Look I hate elon as much as the next guy but getting kicked for "too many actions" can happen due to a number of things, most likely servers simply still being iffy in early access. In fact this happened quite regularly in PoE 1 as well. He deserves being dunked on but this is nothing.

yeah those are all very worthwhile experiences on their own for sure.

Agreeing with everyone, GT7 on PSVR2 is one of my favourite VR experiences period and I have owned PCVR as well for years. Just don't expect too much *other* amazing stuff to come out for it in the future, I feel like Sony is already losing interest in it. You can use it as PCVR headset however!

At least there are better moderation tools to deal with it here. Just fyi you can actually remove your post from people's quotes. Just go to the quote and click "detach quote".

if I could wishlist this twice I would. Also nice to see engagement here is actually way better than on that other platform. Warms my heart.

I'm really excited to get to it. I've been playing through all the originals for the first time and it's been a wild ride. Yes this includes the Arcade. Also the surprisingly decent PSP game with a surprisingly bad PS2 port.

I always have to stop myself from doing this in any online space. For me it's not that I assume only guys play games, I've always known better. It's that my instinct is to identify an unknown person as the same as me. It's a bad habit I continue to work on.

It'd be pretty funny if it was the opposite. Well thought out 2 hour essay hidden behind a tiktok compilation thumbnail.
