Is the last ragtag group of humans keeping civilization alive underground, on a train, on a submarine, in a spaceship, on a space station, under a “dome”, in a giant robot that looks like John Travolta, in a Starbucks, in a self-driving car, in a giant blobfish, in a blimp, or on a Ferris Wheel?

Me too. I figured it would never hit, but I was afraid the one day I wavered would be the one day it came up. Now I feel free!

It is the most popular starting word. I guess they wanted to give out a holiday freebie.

Don’t you know that “rushing yards are a QB stat”?

Someday the kids will learn about something called the “Reform Party”, which, mixed with a magical dash of social media berserkitude, is basically your baseline Trump voter.

If that’s your understanding of how the world works, Kindergarten may be a bit ambitious.

Someone should tell Tommy Tuberville he is Trump’s “Viceroy of the Senate” and then just let him run with it.

I wonder if guys like Kruse pretend not to understand why purportedly sane Republicans pander to the lowest MAGA denominator.

Ominous. But of course there’s the “assumption around the league” that Warren is calling the shots, and that press conference where Poles sat there looking uncomfortable while Warren talked and talked.. Like all great organizations, the lines of authority and accountability are incomprehensible.

I thought the best was the Emerson, Lake & Palmer Christmas Carol concept album that I assume exists.
comment in response to post
Hiring Kevin Warren was kind of, sort of, supposed to be George handing the keys to someone else. In fairness, that move needs some time to mature, but it remains to be seen whether he truly has a free hand. Probably not.

For context, you are defending/rationalizing a bunch of seething idiots trumpeting their admiration for an “assassination” of a private citizen as some sort of “revolutionary resistance” because they are sad, angry, stupid, immature, depraved, and/or bored people. This is not a close call.

Why are you here? To educate the rest of us? Ha. And I guess you’re the only one impeded by character count, too? I didn’t ask you to weigh in.

Any definition of “terrorism” that does not put this guy in the same class as someone who assassinates an abortion provider is just bad faith nonsense. Either both or neither.
comment in response to post
Lol. There is no “argument” there and nothing profound in pointing out that “terrorism” is not mathematically precise. A lot of these “conversations” are based on a desire to sanitize the conduct of one’s ideological allies, e.g., Hamas.

I think we’re done here.

Let me go real slow for you. If violence in support of political ideals makes one a hero, that would sweep in quite a lot of bad shit by people who disagree with each other politically. It implies a belief in one’s own moral infallibility. The entire basis of a civilized society is not doing that.

I support the rule of law over extrajudicial vigilante assassinations by narcissistic maniacs. Capeesh? That should have been obvious.
comment in response to post
I don’t really give a shit if you’re a horsehoe left edgelord or a horseshoe right edgelord, but most of the edgelords dancing around in front of this guy’s grieving family are “I hate capitalism” morons.

It’s just a parade o’ stupid down in these replies. Time for social media age limits. On both ends of the age spectrum.
comment in response to post
You’re a twerpy little shit I could break over my knee. Bye.
comment in response to post
If the left is condoning private extrajudicial political executions, then gun ownership is a good idea.
comment in response to post
But I suspect a lot of it is division bots.
comment in response to post
If this is actually what the left is, thank God it lost.

Don’t think I’m on “their side”. Not about sides like it’s a football game. Status quo is untenable. Think we have to move toward single payor. Still don’t think he was evil, sinister, or anything else.

Same with the 9/11 terrorists. You’re calling them heroic?

Replace “the world” with “a Hardees” and “billions” with “handful” and it’s still correct.
comment in response to post
I think I could keep it to a billion or so with the right staff.

I’d probably think “oh, *that’s* an elephant” and then grab my gladius or whatever and beat a path.

I really, really don’t care if I look good to people who have this kind of juvenile Marvel comics worldview. I am “sticking up” for the CEO inasmuch as I do not believe he deserved to be gunned down in the street or condemned as demonic or evil.
comment in response to post
Well, there isn’t a lot of variation in how we address fire risks, but I wouldn’t call an insurance CEO “evil” if he doesn’t pay for sprinklers in every home below or at cost. The real problem with the analogy is the shape of the demand curve. (But issue is not best system but the moral status.)
