It's official: our members have overwhelmingly authorized a strike vote. We are united and prepared to do what it takes to fight for our first contract. We're done playing around with Microsoft.

OH MY GOD I’VE BEEN HACKED

To mark the birthday of Vincent van Gogh—iconic modern artist born today in 1853—a thread of some of my favorite, relatively lesser known works by him. First up, the stunning multi-colored variegation of his Tree Trunks in the Grass, made in last months of his life krollermuller.nl/en/vincent-v...

This but Fallout 1 and 2.

They Want Government To Suck GOP breaks government on purpose, Assuring everyone get’s bad service. Then campaigns only they can fix it. It’s a scam. Don’t fall for that bullshit.

I really need people to recognize that being a marginalized person doesn’t automatically make you good, kind, or an ally to folks on other axes of marginalization. It’s possible for a disabled person to be racist, a trans person to be ableist, etc so forth, and their marginalization isn’t a pass.

I think punditry would be a lot healthier if people made the case for their policies and position on the merits first rather than framing everything they advocate for as a good electoral strategy. 90% of the time, it's what they support on the merits, so just make that case.

I’m not being forced to support anyone with a D by their name ever again. I’m not supporting half a party that fights change. I’m not supporting half an electorate too lazy to fight for change. Take a really good look around. This is where that got us. You won’t convince me the old ways will work.

Not to be weird but aspects of the neoliberal project, that’s been built and supported by the Democratic Party, have eradicated many of the mechanisms by which the people are able to form and exert political pressure. And this was on purpose. And now we’re screwed.

We need to march on our state capitals and show that we want change. The protests in February were a good start, but one protest less than a month after inauguration won't do anything. We need protests daily, at minimum. A general strike at best.

Please take this seriously: If we get out of this alive, we literally need to push HARD for deep structural changes across law, policy, the judiciary, and the ways in which elected officials get coopted by donors. There is no other way to secure the future.

Now, this is more like it. For the benefit of people from other countries: "This is more like it" is an informal expression that indicates that something has improved or is more satisfactory. It conveys approval or satisfaction with a change or outcome.

Opinion | If the Dems nominate someone under 80 for the next presidential election, it will be a breach of norms

All that bootlicking and they fire you anyway.

Bathroom doors are America's biggest crime

Of course paying people to vote or register to vote—via direct cash payments, entrance to a sweepstakes or lottery, or any other material benefit—is criminal, undemocratic, and wrong. Of course it is. Everyone knows that, including the people pretending not to because they want these bribers to win.

It’s crazy how the generation that said “don’t believe everything you read on the internet” have now been completely replaced by a race of lizard people.

Last night, Missouri Republicans refused to fully fund public schools and child care… Remember, all of them won their offices running as “pro-life” candidates.

At this point, if you support the Republican OR Democrat party, you are part of the problem. They've both had far too long to fix this country, and they've consistently made it worse. Let's go for a third party in 2026 and 2028. I don't care which one at this point. WE NEED CHANGE

What happened to lower gas prices?

23andMe declared bankruptcy and the company is gonna be sold off for parts. That includes your DNA information and the only amount of control you have is to delete your info immediately. It’s very simple to do. Gift link: wapo.st/4kUsBEF

we don’t drag politicians out by their necks through the town square so they can be pelted with garbage like we used to do

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.

The two major parties have decided this election won’t be fought on climate change. Let’s decide otherwise. Vote for Climate 200 candidates. Vote Greens. #VoteForClimate #AusPol

“Your reforms will push an extra 250,000 people including 50,000 children into relative poverty… wow..” @vicderbyshire.bsky.social challenges Treasury Minister Darren Jones on the welfare reform impact assessment which he says doesn’t account for "positive benefit of moving into work” #Newsnight

“For a Labour Government to announce that more families are going into poverty because of a decision they’re making - it’s utterly disgraceful.” Former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn criticises the Government’s Spring Statement cuts to welfare benefits. #Newsnight

Not getting much attention, but the Senate GOP is about to start voting - to make sure banks can charge higher overdraft fees. Seriously. Good time to let your Senators know what you think of that.
