Atractocerus brasiliensis might be the strangest-looking beetle I've ever seen! It's amazing how one little beetle species' life cycle can cause a ship to sink. I am reminded, though, of J.B.S. Haldane's quote that the Creator "had an inordinate fondness for beetles."
