I would not have predicted that large universities would show more courage than either Big Law or corporate media. Good for them.

Chief Judge Boasberg's probable cause ruling is *not* an appealable order. DOJ can ask the D.C. Circuit for an extraordinary writ of mandamus, but that requires showing that the district court ruling both (1) was clearly wrong; and (2) is not otherwise capable of being remedied on a future appeal.

3 things autistic kids will actually never do: 1. Pick up a roadkill bear from the side of the road and put it in their van to eat 2. Realize they could get in trouble for eating the bear 3. Leave it in Central Park to frame a cyclist for its murder

Excellent. Here’s the habeas lawsuit filed in DC for all the men disappeared to CECOT we were waiting for.

If you're going to bring down fascism you can't pretend the problem you're confronting is inflation.

I've been in El Salvador all day fighting for the return of Mr. Abrego Garcia. The Trump Administration can lie all they want, but the Court said they failed to show he was part of MS-13. This is about bringing home a man they ADMIT should never have been abducted. I won't rest until then.

So fucking right

JUST IN: Lawyers for Alien Enemies Act targets ask Judge Boasberg to keep his case alive by permitting them to file habeas claims for the people currently in El Salvador. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Boom

Every 100 years, America gets tariff amnesia — and a clown like Trump drags us into another economic mess. But sure, third time’s the charm, right?

Before the election, I warned that there is no safe haven under authoritarianism. If they can ship Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a foreign prison—accused of no crime, with no trial—they can do it to anyone. Americans of conscience must stand against this now.

I think it’s fine to bully people for reading Harry Potter in 2025 actually If you want to read your old Harry Potter books, you should do it in secret and shamefully - you know, in the way that J.K. Rowling wants to force trans people to live.

Elise Stefanik is reportedly considering a run for Governor of New York, and I can't thank her enough for this enormous gift to Democrats.

Straight-up untrue. This is not the law. Due process is guaranteed to all persons, not just citizens.

Just ran straight from the Bernie / AOC rally (actually had to miss some of Bernie!) to my 18 month oncology check up annnnnd STILL CANCER FREE!!

Three people were forcibly removed fromMTG's town hall. The courts have ruled that no one can be removed from the town halls of Representatives for exercising their free speech rights. This is normalizing fascism.

I didn't think I could be surprised by anything this monster said anymore but it seems impossible to overestimate how cavernously stupid and hideous these people are

What a puzzler. On one hand you have hundreds, if not thousands, of dedicated highly, experienced, highly educated doctors and researchers who've spent their careers working with autism and otoh you have RFK and his legion of vaccine deniers. Who should we believe? www.axios.com/2025/04/16/k...

In the shadow of the recent court decision, hopefully it comes out in my writing but: trans rights are human rights and 'biological sex' is a complex non-binary phenomenon.

This dog got a little impatient waiting for his pup cup. Decided to make sure everything was going alright in there. 14/10

Speaking now from El Salvador, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) says he was denied access to Kilmar Abrego Garcia by El Salvador leaders. And was denied a phone call to him Van Hollen: "The Trump Administration is lying about Abrego Garcia"

Van Hollen says that he asked the VP of El Salvador why his government continues to hold Abrego Garcia even though he’s not charged with any crime and there’s no evidence that he’s MS-13. “His answer was that the Trump administration is paying the government of El Salvador to keep him at CECOT”

Either the courts get to decide who is a “violent criminal” or “gang member”, or Donald Trump gets to decide. That choice determines whether we are a Republic governed by laws or an autocracy living under a ruler.

Just so I am keeping everything straight…the government can’t tell you to wear a mask because FREEDOM!!!!, but it can decide you are a “terrorist” and send you to a foreign gulag without due process and throw away the key. That right?

Even if you (wrongly) believe that some immigrants lack due process rights, what’s to stop the government from claiming that *you* are an undocumented immigrant; removing you to El Salvador; citing an “administrative error”; and refusing to do anything to bring you back? The answer is due process.

Trans people don't need my permission, but they certainly have my support.

It seems Tesla is detecting vehicles that may have problems, and artificially running their odometers faster so the warranty expires before they have to do any service Just incredible grift

Oh my god you want me to find "evidence" before putting someone in jail? Every time?? Do you have any idea how long that would take

Judge Xinis in Tuesday eve order homes in on key issue: "Abrego Garcia appears to remain inexplicably detained in CECOT." She cites text in written agreement with El Salvador showing US control: That detainees are kept in CECOT “pending the United States’ decision on their long-term disposition.”

AOC: When he talks about rapists and criminals, he should look in the mirror

Reminders: "Concentration camps" aren't the same as "extermination camps." Both were/are horrific. Most Nazi camps were *outside Germany*, away from the eyes of German citizens. Those trains? Were to, uh, deport the category of people whose lives were deemed unimportant. Never again is now.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

In fairness, China's pronouncers of state propaganda have a much better game then America's.

Public safety alert: Reports of an intruder. He’s saying he’s just looking to “make a deal” with krill, but we believe it’s of a nefarious nature. Stay away.

“In theory, the other institutions of government should put a swift end to this, but neither the Republican Supreme Court nor the Republican Congress want to pick up this fight, because they're all deeply terrified of an old man in clown makeup.”

We haven’t reached bottom yet. Because there is no bottom to his moral depravity.

Q: What distinguishes a prison from a concentration camp?

Trump defying a 9-0 Supreme Court decision is the reason I say "if we still have free and fair elections in the United States" when I talk about 2026 midterms.

He’s threatening media companies who are critical of him. He’s talking about sending Americans to foreign prisons. He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him. He’s defying the Supreme Court. Don’t you see what’s happening here?

I WANT MORE PEOPLE TO KNOW DONALD TRUMP IS IGNORING A UNANIMOUS SUPREME COURT ORDER, THAT EVEN CLARENCE THOMAS AGREED WITH, TO RELEASE A MAN THE GOVERNMENT WRONGFULLY KIDNAPPED AND SENT TO A FOREIGN PRISON WITHOUT ANY EVIDENCE OF HIM COMMITTING A CRIME!

So, if I understand correctly, the President of the United States is saying that the Supreme Court of the United States consists of nine “sick people,” including three whom he appointed. apple.news/AMHDqIFcpRxi...

Would men need to provide a marriage certificate to vote? No? Just women? Got it.
