For anyone needing pubmed, here is the european mirrorpage europepmc.org

It seems PubMed has disappeared. This is the digital equivalent of burning a library.

Fabulous new research re autism and learning (intellectual) disability. It's about assent/consent, and how to get it right for everyone. www.liebertpub.com/doi/epub/10.... Lots of thought, good checklists and ideas. This is so important, isn't it.

Our gentle reminder that there's ~ 2 million autistic ppl in the UK. Research shows we are less likely to commit crime than other ppl, on average. Having an autism diagnosis is irrelevant to whether they are a criminal. It's like saying, "They have size 8 feet - let's fear all ppl with size 8 feet"

Saying “autistic people have superpowers” means well, but it creates false expectations and stereotypes and makes it seem that autistic people are less normal than anyone else. Let autistic people be human, please. #neurodiversity a.co/97Zc1Cp

Word of the day is ‘bellycheer’ (16th century): feasting, gluttony, and ‘the gratification of the belly’.

I've been relaxing this weekend by making some of my handsewn dolls. It's my current favourite thing to make. Next week it could be something different. I'd love to see other people's creations too ☺️. #handmade #handsewndolls #feltcreatures

When I'm not working in one of my 2 jobs, I like to make things to relax. Today I made this, with honeysuckle from my garden, and other greenery from the ground in my local park. All free, and a relaxing activity (apart from being pricked by the holly 😂)

How do you choose between the dying wish of your mother and the risks for your disabled son? This thread is such a clear and moving description of the dilemmas we face as a society, and the difficult discussions we need to have. Thank you Mark

Brilliant idea!! @helenlavertymbe.bsky.social do you have any clout and maybe getting students to canvass other uni students to sign? LD nurses supporting other and advocacy groups to sign?
