this kept happening (they even made foakes lend Ollie pope his kit once, so they could drop foakes - and he did it). In the end they made Jamie Smith the keeper and just dumped Foakes completely - even though Smith is Foakes' understudy at Surrey....

gave bairstow the gloves. He got back into the side, then Stokes got injured, and they were short a bat and a bowler, so again they dropped Foakes, and gave someone else the gloves who was already in the team as a batter....

he was the England wickie, and possibly the best in the world. He is a good batter, but not a "bazball" batter. Bairstow broke his leg and Harry Brook replaced him and was amazing. When Bairstow recovered, they could not drop Brook. So to get JB and Brook in the side they dropped Foakes and .....

Yes, his treatment by England is disgraceful really. A player that good deserves so much better. A joy to watch for Surrey though all the same.
