Left my house at 5pm, put gas in my car, drove to the LCBO in Crystal Beach then picked up Chinese in Fort Erie and was home by 6:30. I love you, Canada! 🇨🇦 🍁

Since I’ve been getting this a lot - if you feel like supporting me by buying a jersey or something, I would rather you make a donation to Trans Lifeline or The Trevor Project www.thetrevorproject.org

“We should be able to come together as American citizens and say, no kings, no tyrants, not now, not ever.” Thanks again for an inspiring chat, @chriswarcraft.bsky.social

Smaller regional auto shows like these take place around the country all of the time. There are also lots of EV-specific "butts in seats" events. Reaching potential Tesla buyers who may not be online makes these events a high-impact educational opportunity. Look for one near you! #TeslaTakedown

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

WISDOM!!! #birds news.mongabay.com/short-articl...

I ordered the “bowl of fucks”and this is what I was handed. I ordered a French revolution to go and I was immediately pelted with at least 15 pieces of plastic fruit while they both yelled “death to the bourgeoisie” it’s hard to tell if I was more proud or more amused at their blatant creativity

This also explains why they are the perfect stores for neurodivergent folks as long as they're not super busy. One has limited products, but big quantities of it (savings, consistency), the other has lots of products, but smaller quantities (savings, but novelty). Both also have great house brands.

Ladies and Gentlemen.... The Weekly Friday Night Massacre

Firing all the JAGs is very very bad

after hearing from several of you last night, i think i have a general structure for this. it's subject to change based on feedback, but if you're a current, fired, or currently-being-litigated federal worker, i want to hear from you. here are the details.

btw, i will tell you this - i have been talking to people all day, and the media is missing, whether intentionally or not, how absolutely, volcanically angry the people who have been fired are, not because they lost their jobs, but because their jobs matter, *to us*

“We had to erase trans people or we couldn’t get our federal funding” Fuck the federal funding. You fight, you sue, you do not become complicit in our mass erasure. We are all in this together, and we all go down together. I will not allow us to be jettisoned or erased.

This is a virtuoso piece of writing. www.theatlantic.com/culture/arch... "Let us agree... that social media totally rots. It contains some good stuff, but overall, it is like a cookie the size of a football field with three chocolate chips in it, plus an equivalent number of staples."

Public comment is now open for passport gender marker changes. You can go here to go to each of the three proposed passport rules, and submit comment. My suggestion: be unique, argue for trans-inclusive policies, against the constitutionality of the changes, etc. www.reddit.com/r/Passports/...

Executive orders are not laws.

Wrote about how easy it is to claim you saved taxpayers billions when you just make shit up. But also how this is the Twitter Files all over again. The dumbest people don't know what they're looking at so it must be a conspiracy www.techdirt.com/2025/02/19/i...

I don’t know why this is hard for folks to understand. The layoffs aren’t just about probationary employees. They are going beyond that. It won’t stop. It’s all about making agencies non-functional.

Another clip with former NFL Player Chris Kluwe @chriswarcraft.bsky.social arrested for civil disobedience this week in the face of his MAGA city council. HERE he talks about why, in the ensuing publicity he rejected an interview ask from the New York Times (he says exception for @jamellebouie.net)

Years ago I wrote an article for Slate detailing why RFK Jr. is an anti-vaxxer, and he was so pissed he called my editor and gave her a spittle-flecked rant for an hour. Yet here we are.

Welcome to today's episode of Shut The Fuck Up Friday! Check out this video for some tips from a local lawyer for those of you headed out to the streets to protest. You're a target of the state when you take action. NEVER talk to police & always STFU! Full video in thread👇

young posters, the use of language changed before you were born, so in case you didn't know this: the reason things like Social Security and Medicare are called "entitlements" isn't (derogatory) it's because access is *guaranteed* in exchange for your advance payments into the program

I'm gonna keep reposting examples of people not taking shit because it's important for us to see that you can, simply, reject the shit. Say "Uh... no no no, we will not be tolerating that."

You know, on this thread: If you’re in a major metro, your chief responsibility in politics needs to be at your city and county level. If your city has a population larger than 16 states (more than 1.5 million), your mayor/county board of supervisors are incredibly powerful, but poorly checked.

Just had an excellent interview with @advocate.com, and I really think this one is worth your time to read.

My laptop has done an update, and now Word is forcing Copilot on me, and I am livid. I want it to go away. It's not *enabled*, but I have to see the icon hovering on the side of the page, begging to be used. The tips and tricks for removing Copilot aren't working. @microsoft.com, this is TRASH.

THIS IS HUGE! Researchers at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center say results of a Phase I trial of an mRNA vaccine aimed at preventing pancreatic cancer show promise. The vaccine PREVENTED the cancer from coming back in patients who had already received treatment for MORE THAN three years. 🧪🧵⬇️

Medicaid is not for sale. NASA is not for sale. The Post Office is not for sale. America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

My week has peaked at just the right time.

Cuts to NSF expected to be at 50% reduction in force for an independent agency that fuels discovery and innovation. "The NSF budget was $9B, or 0.13% of the total [budget]." This is not about fiscal prudence. This is about killing universities. nanoscale.blogspot.com/2025/02/the-...

@themerl.bsky.social You wouldn't happen to know the provenance of this? The note on it says "A pig photobombs a rural wedding, location unknown, but somewhere in England, 1927."

You can try to legislate us out of existence, but we are still here. You can strip away our rights, but you will never take our dignity. You can spread your hatred, but you will never break our resolve. BUT HEAR THIS LOUD AND CLEAR MOTHERFUCKERS: WE WILL NOT GO QUIETLY!!!
