Me: I know pantyhose are a little dated but I love how they even out my skin tone Teller: So is this not a robbery? Me: No, it is

Lina Khan may be gone, but Robinson-Patman suits in the CPG sector live on.

Back in 2022, I wrote about the platform and brand dynamics that lead established beer brands to post out-of-pocket stuff, specifically w/r/t PBR's infamous ass-eating tweet that January. Three years later, the platforms have changed, but I think the argument still holds up!

What the fuck is wrong with Democrats

"trump take egg!" I shout as I crest the hill. a bullet strikes me and I fall. my brother in arms behind me takes my rifle from my weakening grasp. "trump take egg" ,I mumble as the color leaves my vision. "trump take egg", he reassures me as he gently closes my eyes, before rejoining the advance.

the story in question has like five bylines lol

This country's nightclubs may never financially recover from the category error of "ladies drink free."

We're doing it, folks

"[A]t no previous point in my lifetime has a sitting president had to appear on television and tell the public that he is not being manipulated by a scheming vizier. Not even George W. Bush had to do that, and plenty of people were suspicious of Dick Cheney." — @lopatto.bsky.social @theverge.com

they put in the newspaper that he got bitches

news you can (unfortunately) use from @jayasaxena.com and @eater.bsky.social

Embarrassing confession - I heard some references to Jeffries on a "book tour" and thought it was some wry joke. But no! He co-wrote a children's book about democracy and is touring it during the first Trump recess week.

i can fix him

In my column this week at The Lookout, I dug into the confusion around the landscaping plan for Jefferson Ave's Phase II redesign. Richmond DPW *did* wind up putting in trees that apparently align with community requests for the corridor. But it was a "sigh of relief," not a sure thing.

The Guardian consistently publishes some of the purest distillations of car-brain you’ll get outside a Facebook comments section

There’s not a word in this story about the corrupt nature of this dismissal. Not a concern voiced, not a question raised, not even an acknowledgment that he’s the president’s biggest donor and he’s acting as an unelected, unconfirmed tyro wielding unchecked power over spending and the civil service.

Cheap rhetorical trick warning, but: imagining the response if a weed brand (i) was allowed to post about using their products, like at all, and (ii) felt inclined to pop off about Sesame Street or grown up Arthur’s smoking choices.

"Pepsi’s distribution of Celsius and Anheuser-Busch InBev’s continued distribution of Alani in the near term will lead both names to compete for shelf space and market share."

Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is The Raines Law Room!

there's enough psychic damage radiating off of this screenshot to power a nuclear reactor

Nobody really disagrees that the U.S. hop market has a surplus, or what to do about it: p̶r̶a̶y̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶a̶ ̶w̶a̶r̶e̶h̶o̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶f̶i̶r̶e̶ cut acreage under wire to rebalance supply & demand. But as I wrote in my column this week at @vinepair.com, solving that prisoner's dilemma is easier said than done.

hakeem jeffries and chuck schumer texting their caucuses:

Notch 8 Brewery of Annapolis illegally fired a bartender for having "backdoor" conversations with coworkers about breaks and overtime pay, per new NLRB ruling: nlrbresearch.com/pdfs/09031d4...

“Software tries to help me ‘write’ all the time, as if, and it also has the fucking nerve to try to ‘correct’ my grammar, and I’d also like to point out that the nightmare known as Grammarly should be judged by the name, ‘Grammarly.’” — @mariabustillos.bsky.social @flaminghydra.com

I will vote for the first candidate who tells me they're going to make the biggest government possible. Reacher-sized agencies. Braun Strowman-level social benefits. Government so big it starts belching out National Parks and free healthcare. Chungus State.

Haters don't want you to see this archival shot of Groucho Marx hoisting a stein of PBR with Pabst Brewing Co.'s scion on the set of the WWII-era CBS variety hour 'Blue Ribbon Town'
