"I don’t need a tech company’s data to tell me that dining alone is a delight, but I can appreciate what it means for the future of restaurants." — @kristenhawley.bsky.social

something cool is when i'm waiting on hold for customer service and the recording keeps urging me to check the website for "faster answers to most common issues" as though i didn't already scour the outdated faq and multiple reddit threads in hopes of avoiding waiting on hold for customer service

ICYMI, last week at @vinepair.com I made the case for a pan-category propaganda push from the country's biggest brewers to boost draft beer's flagging fortunes: vinepair.com/articles/hop...

This... seems like a pretty big deal?

[massive bong rip] when everything is computer, nothing is

"Bohen points to Gulp Hablo’s “perfect combination of user-friendly traits” as the secret to its success — from its clear glass bottle showcasing the bright orange wine inside, to its crowd-pleasing flavor profile and low 11.5 percent ABV. 'They captured lightning in a bottle.'"

Meg Owoc, wife Bang Energy founder and ousted CEO Jack, just casually sharing anti-vaxx memes on her Instagram Stories as a new measles outbreak is announced in multiple states:

Dominion poured over $1M into the Democratic primary this year and not to wishcast here but it kinda seems like that negatively polarized voters against those candidates (Stoney and Taylor) a bit

Tesla's Potemkin robotaxis out here in Austin giving fake rides to nobody. Just driving into a neighborhood, stopping for a fake pickup, driving 5 minutes, and stopping for a fake drop-off. The "driverless" fleet is no more than 20 cars max, and they can't keep them busy. Winning!

Lavos, the alien monster intent on destroying all life, has emerged from beneath the planet's surface to endorse Andrew Cuomo in the New York City mayoral race. "Cuomo has the experience and character necessary to lead," said Lavos, while fire rained from the sky

i fear the heat is actually beating me rn

I've heard from several neighbors that @levarstoney.bsky.social actually lives in Church Hill, which means in addition to getting rejected in last week's Dem primary by Richmond voters writ large, and every precinct in the 7th District, he didn't even manage to carry *the precinct he lives in.* Oof.

It gets harder by the day not to characterize this administration as distinctly “north korean” when the White House senior staff is about fifteen inches away from declaring Trump invented the moon and the stars, and currently argue things like that he invented in Geico Gecco

"Though the Arthur Ashe Bridge Project is a major improvement over the current bridge in terms of pedestrian and bicycle accessibility, the current design seems insufficient considering the scope of the medium term plans f or our City, let alone the next 75 years." — @johnwbarclay.bsky.social

"Oklahoma calls it SoonerCare. Arkansas uses ARHOME. Connecticut’s program is HUSKY Health. Tennessee has TennCare. These names make Medicaid more palatable locally—but also more vulnerable. When coverage is lost or eligibility is tightened, beneficiaries often don’t realize what they’re losing."

seems like every american election is about beating the 35% of the country who aren't interested in the issues, don't follow the news, know nothing about the candidates, and are dead set solely on walking into that booth and pulling the lever for I Want To Put A Shot Gun In My Mouth

sorry I can't get over how cynical this is. dude *just* voted for a bill that was pushed by the crypto lobby and left out any protections against Trump's corruption. *now* he's claiming to address the issue with a bill that will never pass? this is galling even by modern Dem standards

The country’s corporate media has fired up the consent factories to sell one more pointless war to the American public. Here’s @richmond.com fully both-sides-ing Trump’s illegal attack on Iran *without even mentioning it’s illegal.* Great job folks!

As a longtime jiu-jitsu hobbyist, I resent Zuckerberg channeling his mid-life malaise into our ounce obscure and humble art. This is a really good story tho that def transcends grappling. Shows how white belt (beginner) energy can be harnessed for destructive ends. www.ft.com/content/a86f...

Snapped this photo of the Bellwether Sessions in Church Hill last night. Right before I caught The News™️. Pretty idyllic!

The sexual predators have unionized

Truly baffled at this mind-numbing, replacement-level post by a “special correspondent” fluffing deregulation that @richmond.com is running the top story in its app today. Anybody know what the hell this is?

I was thinking that maybe, more than 20 years after the start of the Iraq war, media coverage would be more skeptical and less sycophantic No such luck
