Have they given a reason it's never played anymore? I've always suspected they'd play it at their last show, if they happened to know it would be their last show.

That would be a pretty inexpensive location

Autistic people are not generally swayed by emotional appeals to propaganda, which makes them am ideal rather for authoritarians

The average American has fewer than 3 friends? Come on.

There is a faction of billionaires who want to have oligarchs own almost everything. Tank the economy, buy all the suddenly available housing and farmland, reinstitute feudal life. It's crazy, but some of those tech guys want exactly what. Guess who sold a bunch of stocks right before April 2?

There's nothing there! Is this a scam?

They absolutely had to give him a single-digit number

They're insufferable music snobs who seem to barely enjoy shows. Their approval provides nothing but more problems.

Why in the world would any Phish fan want them to be more popular? They are set for life. Tickets are hard enough to get already. People coming just for the party, which is generally how it starts, are the worst. Why?

At first I figured it can't be worse than the devolution of the Disco Biscuits scene a ways back. But then, what kind of mind is compelled to go on a form of bluegrass tour? Not a healthy one. I'll stay my distance until time carves decent prefrontal cortexes for them.
comment in response to post
The kids are definitely softer. Probably because the kids who can afford to tour are mostly rich, but still.

I'd personally trade the data for small venues, more shows, and inexpensive, easily attainable tickets, though I do appreciate your perspective.

Baltimore is weird. Missing two shows in arguably their best year tracks.

Spring Fair was the one cool thing about Johns Hopkins. It would have been amazing. (Also would have been my first show. I loved the albums but didn't know the live shows were anything special... yet.)
comment in response to post
Sorry, I am slow. I think it was supposed to be Spring 1992.

He tried to get Phish back but it was too late. Time was running out, there were very few options left, so instead of Phish, we got... The Village People If this isn't the biggest musical downgrade in history, I don't know what is. (I was absolutely crushed.) This would have been... 1992?

The agreement was made, then when he informed the rest of the Spring Fair committee, there were a lot of complaints. They insisted they should get a female vocalist whose name now escapes me. So he had to cancel Phish, but then the female vocalist got big and was no longer an option.

There was one a long article in the Johns Hopkins newspaper by the guy who was in charge of getting a band to play a show at Hopkins' annual Spring Fair. They gave him total control over who to book, so he chose Phish.

The further you separate actions from their consequences, the easier evil becomes.

You can always get one of those big batteries to weather the storm. Probably a good investment given which way the wind is blowing.

My first Marvel comic was an Eternals issue, but that movie was unwatchable. I love most anything Kirby, but that is not a good translation.

For a few moments I was thinking of Johnny Cash and his concerts at Folsom Prison and was wondering why they would possibly be playing there. If they do play there, don't do the logistics. It's not worth it.

Getting that big is a lot of work, and there are no guarantees. My band obsession in high school was XTC, and they didn't tour at all because one of the members developed crippling state fright. There is plenty of great live music, but there's so much more that we'll never get to experience.

They are captivating; reminiscent of the sorts of binaural music subsets of the ADHD diaspora obsessively consume. Their voices replicate the stereo aspects of those songs despite the lack of stereo separation. Very soothing. Love it.

It really is lovely. Thank you. (I've been trying to catch up on my Disco Biscuits, and the difference in vocal quality is staggering.)

Unfortunately we've been using our gate as a bridge so that's going to be logistically tricky.

I'm mostly excited to have found another person with a name that is a sentence (a delightful category for quirky pattern matches) and will check the Katelyn Shook catalogue to reinforce my knowledge of her inclusion in that odd catalogue. Thanks!

We can't let ourselves be burnt out in frustration. It's important to appreciate that which is good in the world, and you are an important part of that. (Besides, no one listens to a total crank.)

He has no intention of letting go of power. Laws only work when enforced. Much like currency, they can be devalued shockingly quickly.

Alright, but you really must read that Seth Fisher book. It's my favorite comic ever.

I stopped collecting comics a while back so I had missed him so far. His work looks incredible. If you've never seen Seth Fisher's work in Fantastic Four / Iron Man: Big in Japan, I give it my strongest recommendation.
