This scene has echoed in my head on a loop over the last few weeks.

From the New Yorker, by Ellis Rosen.

BREAKING 🔥🔥🔥

A wonderful opportunity for two young people who don't have much by way of cash or connections to get started in (digital) media. I'm a trustee of the charity, founded to commemorate my great mate Andy, who wanted us to help kids like the one he used to be. andytaylorfoundation.org/our-work/?fb...

Having failed to exclude Zelenskyy, they sought to bully him. Having failed to bully him, they sought to bribe him. Having failed to bribe him, they sought to discredit him. Maybe they will get round him one way or another, but you can see how frustrated they are at him holding on.

PSA

There's a rumour that Nigel Farage is keeping his head down because he's off to a Trump cheerleading conference over the weekend. I’m afraid I’m being proved right- Farage is far more interested in Trump's success than British security. He is a bootlicker and a plastic patriot.

A COMPLETE UNKNOWN. Timothée Chalamet makes a fine Dylan, more than holding his own against Edward Norton as Pete Seeger. The songs remain undiminished. The spirit of poetic rebellion in a troubled US, embodied by Woody Guthrie, Seeger and later Dylan resonates strongly in 2025. It feels like hope.

Been thinking about this moment from a Bug's Life lately.

The measles outbreak in Texas is reminding me of the public letter Roald Dahl wrote about losing his daughter to measles in 1962, just before the vaccine was publicly available.

"He who saves his Country does not violate any Law."

'Becoming Led Zeppelin' does a wonderful job. I remember the buzz of astonishment around our school when the first album was released in March '69. The early stuff is still my favourite, and this is an excellent, no frills reminder of just how bloody good they were when it all clicked.

Here is the pre-RFK vaccination schedule for your kids. Please download it before he is confirmed and changes/deletes it. Give it to your pediatrician and say this is the schedule you want your kids on. Making this my pinned post.

Word.

🎙️ Today is World Radio Day, but audio drama is under serious threat! 🎙️ Please sign and share our petition to save audio drama at the BBC. Let’s reach 10,000 ✍️👇 www.change.org/p/save-audio...

And the cool thing is that this petition is now on 113,000… Crossing the 100K mark only accelerated it. 🚀

Happy #WorldRadioDay! Send a video message to Director-General Tim Davie + the BBC about why audio drama is so important to you, why you oppose their cuts and why we must Save Audio Drama at the BBC #SADatTheBBC writersguild.org.uk/save-audio-d...

For thousands of British writers (including myself) BBC audio drama was where we started, where we learned, where we explored what we could do. It's currently being dismantled, removing one rare and vital ladder for new writers in this country. #SADatTheBBC @writersguildgb.bsky.social
