Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce. Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.

Dear fellow Australian voters May I suggest that before our election, you all look up how politicians voted before making any decisions Believe their actions, not their words theyvoteforyou.org.au

If you’re having vigorous discourse around burritos and food prep, please note that this is the guy whose screenshotted tweet is at the heart of it. These are stressful times, but don’t treat a provocation from a literal fascist as if it’s a misguided but good-faith argument. He’s baiting you.

I just want to point out that fascisim is, among other things, weaponized nostalgia. Which means that if you have any hobby that has a nostalgic aspect, be aware that you probably have some fascists hanging about. Knitting, sewing, fountain pens, history buffs, gaming? Yep, all them.

@erinkyan.bsky.social what if... Two cats (we are looking after Piglet for a while after he got back from Vanuatu with his person. Integrating the two cats has Taken Some Time but it's gone pretty well overall, I think)

Once any space becomes less than 40% male, (straight) men tend to cede it entirely while shouting about how it “went woke”. Fascinating read:

Oh my god this has clarified my hatred for That One Husband and adoration of Many Other Husbands including the one married to my brother, who despite being gay genuinely adores women. This is exactly it.

I want to make a personal appeal for the beautiful new game of Palestinian gamedev @rasheedabueideh.bsky.social. As nobody will fund a game about the 1948 Nakba, Rasheed is crowdfunding via launchgood.com/1948. I've been doing production advice on the game pro bono, and it deserves to exist.

Is there a book series about a Leverage style team who steals money from billionaires and gives it to various nonprofits? If so please deliver the title. If not, someone please write this? I desperately want to read it. Fun, action, dangerous, a little romantic.

I ned a new book. all my authors are writing too slowly. it needs to be swash & buckle, either fantasy or sci-fi, with humor a bit of romance and a twinkle. assume I've read nearly everything. faves for this: McGuire, Brust, Andrews, Saintcrow, Kowal, Harrison, Briggs. GO! #Books #Genre
