The backlog that is being cleared - still - is the pre AMA legacy cases.
They’re actively creating a AMA backlog.
The only president I have seen actually help veterans and improve the claims system was Obama.
We started drafting PACT when he was in office. Stalled during trump years.

Im an advocate for thousands of vets fighting for VA disability. Been doing it since 2007. Served on the board of nation’s largest veterans advocates group from 2015-2023.
“Talk at the VA” is like talking football Monday mornings… Everyone’s got opinions, but none of them play the game.

And after WW I … the gov stopped paying pensions to disabled service members, vets gathered in camp cities, but no mass protests

My dad, a vet, 78, almost blind, disabled, not eligible for disability thru VA, denied Medicaid, Section 8 wait list closed for years now, not eligible for any other HUD. He has no assets, gets $1,195/mo, his rent is $860 after discount. VA doesn't care. USA doesn't care.

You gotta be a little careful here… this mentality was used to deny support for returning World War I vets & led to some pretty nasty veteran uprisings you don’t hear about in school.
Vets engaging in violence need mental health treatment (inpatient?) … not a punchdown on all vets.

I was a Fire Support Officer in Korea (2ID)
