Old references to the page now lead to a 404. Apologies for the previous typos. www.lemkininstitute.com/red-flag-ale...

I must admit, having been at this a decade, I've had to disengage a lot from these discussions for my mental health. I've seen friends, whom I educated and known me for years, still end up believing prop over me. Can be disheartening but it's a conversation worth having for those able and open to it

Hard agree. If I don't have the energy to engage with someone thoughtfully (and it's, like you said, a minor slip up), then I find it best not to engage at all. I'd rather they remain uninformed rather than alienated, and I try to just engage when I have the energy.

It can be so, so hard at times. But yeah, unless someone's being willfully malicious, gotta try to find kindness amidst all these threats.

Solidarity with the regime, not the press corps. Great sign for things.

Fwiw, tech exp can sometimes cross over well with compliance or ERP implementations. Look for business intelligence roles. They may value your partner's tech experience, while exposing her to business experience (which then makes her versatile in tech and business ops, which is pretty invaluable).

Anyone know if this protest will extend into the weekend? I'd make a 12 hour trip to be there.

Know that your work here is likely helping some other trans peeps down the line. It may be of little consolation (fuck that system completely, as someone that did the same), but I know the barriers I cleared in my insurance opened the door for several other people to transition that could not have.

Love to see the equivalent of less than $1 in raw esters sold for almost $500. Fucking obscene.

Discredited by my Transness should be my autobiography title.

Severino and his ilk tried this last time they were at HHS. Introduced a rule allowing providers to refuse treatment to trans patients for any moral or conscious reason and not restricted to trans care. I'd be surprised if we don't see a similar rule promulgated by March or April.

Appreciate all the work you do.

Just wanted to live with some semblance of dignity. How silly of me.

I'll be standing alongside you. I'll never go back, and they can't fucking make me.

This is a great resource during these times (and somewhat to your point). Hopefully it can help some. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ihr...

They want to Hyde Amendment it. Still impossible to ban it wholesale, but they can destroy the current system of care if a similar amendment passed.

I prepped for the worst, but it seems worse than my imagination allowed (in terms of where we're headed). Fuck I'm scared rn and just here sharing in that panic with ya 🫂

That calm and focused feeling is really weird (and kinda eerie), I know what you mean. It's like some deep acceptance of my deepest fears from the past decade coming true, but with certainty that this is what we're up against now.

Thank you for standing up for truth and your own dignity @jimacosta.bsky.social

Always want to point out that while this was truly an achievement for humanity in stopping this genocide, it never stopped for the queers. No liberation came and they remained convicted criminals post liberation. time.com/5953047/lgbt...

Yeah, same. I've been on hormones longer than I went through my natal puberty, and I literally don't have the anatomy anymore. May we forever break their small minds (though hopefully those small minds don't break us first with their unjust laws and proud bigotry).

My hope is at an all time low, to be honest. Just hanging in there the best we can.

Same, stranger. I buried too many already and it's all I can do not to join them. Alas, I trudge forward for there memories as long as I can...

If you have any community data you want retained, but storage is a concern, feel free to dm me. I'm similarly archiving literature, community posts/knowledge, etc. as I can digitally. Have 60ish TB NAS available if you ever want me to make a copy as well for redundancy. Thanks for all you do.

Hahahaha, they called her a champion swimmer (5th) and a defender of women's sports across the world. Great job, TN, stay focused on the grifting and circlejerk of your hatred tour with Ms. Gaines. What a farce.

Ah, sorry. This looks to block any changes to birth certificates requested from 4/26/2022 and on. I wonder if they have a backlog of unprocessed requests to predate a bill like this (a reach in its own right).
comment in response to post
The last paragraph appears to be barring gender changes for any birth certificate issued after 4/26/2022 if I'm reading this correctly. Can't tell if this section's wording would expose anyone with changes made after that date to possible reversion, or just restrict anyone born after that date.

This collection of poetry recently helped me. Visceral, real, creative, spiritual, and very in touch with our times and the reality of trans existence. www.amazon.com/Trans-Libera...

Yeah, fascism is rising from the ashes of neoliberalism. Neoliberalism has failed, fullstop.

Just continuing, unrelenting cruelty. Thanks for all your reporting on these bills, dunno how I could keep up otherwise.

World health orgs, UN, etc. seem like especially salient attack points wielding US power. Hell, they already said they'd pull out of WHO if they didn't capitulate and reclass us as mentally ill. I've also been seeing 'shock and awe' rhetoric, but towards our communities. Expect a blitz.

Congrats! Moving to twice a day was such a big improvement to daily life. You'll be down to once/day and less before you know it.

I sure do feel more at peace knowing it wasn't my death they actually wanted. It was merely an added pleasantry 🥰

'Why start now,' they ask.

I feel like I came out at the peak of good times in early 2015. I've felt the pot boiling every day since and it's so fucking exhausting. Even trying to explain the bredth of the attacks against us to cis people makes me sound like a conspiracy theorist 😪
comment in response to post
I'm really sorry you're feeling this. Once you peel back the curtains on the deliberate, needless cruelty and hate, you can't unsee it. Take solace that you are transitioning, and your body is your own. Our community will provide for each other however possible, whatever comes.

They'd totally use it as an excuse to shut down all funding for sports they don't like, then blame us for causing it 🤦‍♀️
