Nottingham Forest Season Card holder. Work in IT. It's boring but it pays the bills, but also prevents me spending more time surrounded by nature, taking pictures. If you didn't photograph it, why did you bother going?

Panorama on Powillimount beach, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. My apologies on this one. I didn't do a very good job of keeping the camera level, so the images haven't stitched together particularly well, but it's the only pano I took here. #Photography #PanoPhotos

As everyone is photographing the strawberry moon tonight, I thought I'd post a photo of the sunrise over the Solway Firth from Southerness, Scotland. #Photography

Cockle shells on Powillimount beach, Dumfries and Galloway. On the section of beach where this was taken, there are probably hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of these shells. They make such a satisfying crunch as you walk over them. #Photography

Tissington Trail, Peak District, Derbyshire. The trail is a bridleway, footpath and cycleway between Ashbourne and Parsley Hay. It opened in 1971 on what was formerly the railway line connecting Ashbourne to Buxton. Tissington is a village along the 13-mile route. #Photography

Panorama of Staithes harbour, North Yorkshire, England. I bet these cliffs were once connected, but I wonder how long ago that was. #Photography #PanoPhotos

Powillimount beach and wind farms across the Solway firth. I can't remember exactly which direction I was facing when this was taken, but my best guess is the wind farms are Crossdykes, Solway Bank and Craig Hill. #Photography

Nine Stones Close stone circle, Harthill Moor, near Elton, Derbyshire. The full moon belies the fact it's 11pm. The 25-second exposure makes it look like daylight but the stars, though faint, are the give-away. #Photography

Across the Solway Firth to the mountains of England's Lake District National Park. The Solway Firth forms part of the border between England and Scotland. Firth is a Scottish term for an inlet of the sea. Cumbria is on the English side, Dumfries and Galloway on the Scottish side. #Photography

A field of cows alongside the Tissington Trail, near Alsop en le Dale, Derbyshire. The cow in the background, that's looking at me suspiciously... has it it been eating the brown leaves from the (beech, I think) tree? #Photography

The lifeboat station in Staithes was established by the RNLI in 1875. It closed from 1922-1928 and again in 1938, being re-established as Staithes and Runswick Lifeboat Station in 1978. It currently operates a B-class (Atlantic 85) inshore lifeboat, Sheila & Dennis Tongue III (B-897). #Photography

The Milky Way over Magpie Mine, Sheldon, Derbyshire. Magpie Mine is a well-preserved disused lead mine. The walled enclosure of five lead mines (Magpie Mine, Dirty Red Soil, Great Red Soil, Maypit and Horsesteps) is a protected Scheduled Monument. #Photography

Oystercatchers feeding on Powillimount beach, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland. These Eurasian oystercatchers are the most widespread of the genus. They are one of the largest waders in their region, up to 45cm long. Both sexes are similar in appearance, but the female has a longer bill. #Photography

Kittiwakes nesting at Staithes, North Yorkshire, England. Although the one middle looks like it's just got home and realised someone's nicked its nest. #Photography

The Abbey of Dulce Cor (Sweetheart Abbey), near Dumfries, Scotland. Founded in 1273 by Lady Dervorguilla of Galloway, in memory of John de Balliol, her husband of 45 years. She kept his embalmed heart with her, in a silver-bound ivory casket, for the rest of her life. #Photography

The Peak District National Park has around 5500 miles of dry stone walls. These are next to the Tissington Trail, near Alsop en le Dale, Derbyshire. One of the uses of dry stone walls was to define land ownership and to prevent livestock from escaping into neighbouring fields. #Photography

Panorama of Staithes harbour, North Yorkshire, England. Formerly a thriving fishing village and mining hub, Staithes is now a popular tourist destination. Beware of those cliffs though. Rock falls are commonplace, even on a beautiful day like this. #Photography #PanoPhotos

The Milky Way at Glenridding, Cumbria, England. The bright star to right of the Milky Way is Vega, in the constellation Lyra. Vega is the 5th brightest star in the night sky and, after Arcturus, the 2nd brightest in the northern hemisphere. #Photography
