I would like to posit a counter argument: many if not most long form videos could benefit from severe editing. Therefore the popularity of short form content may be a positive influence on people's succinctness

So technically I'm not convinced it's a copyright issue, it's an "undermining of humanity" issue which we don't have laws against because it is all so new.
Definitely copyright adjacent though, so perhaps we need new regulations specifically for the control and use of data for training.

I just figured out what's wrong with it. Automation of learning feels like cheating.
If a human gets good at a skill through practice, it takes a lot of time and effort: impressive.
If a machine does it, it doesn't feel the time, effort, or dedication: not impressed.
