I think 1 solar panel on the roof of a ev makes sense, but only for (trickle) charging the 12v battery and help the ac
Not for charging the big high voltage battery !!
comment in response to
post
That's the best place for solar, on a roof
You will get 10x more solar charging for the same money because integrating solar in ev's is expensive and not very efficient

40miles is fictional over optimistic
Maybe on the best day, continously angled in the optimal direction
than drive 35 mph on a smooth road with wind in the back and no traffic lights
In real life, with shadows, highway speeds, heating or ac, shadows etc etc
4 miles average per day is realistic

Yes, it's 700wattpeak solar, but...
Wrong angle to the sun
Shade from trees buildings etc
The panels are not ventilated so efficiency will drop
You can't charge the battery when it's full
Losse from charging and discharging
More ac needed if parked in full sun
And more practical problems

It will be closer to 4 solar miles per day

The Company itself has become a scam 😭

The Aptera car is nice
The Aptheranos company is 🤮

They are already partnering up with Nikola
comment in response to

Ok but the fact that they are now 6 years late and have no real investors is not a problem
And that they only do claims but never proof
(unless you count a downhill test a valid eficiency test 😂)

Let's talk in a year, and see what you think retrospect

Yeah it's always something else's fault, never that of Chris and Steve
If they have so many successful companies like flux power and the boat company, why do they take 250k salary, and why do they invested 0 dollar themselves in Aptera....
comment in response to
post
This was a scam, and it was done by Chris and Steve
Maybe Aptera started with goid intentions in 2004 and in 2019, but since 2021 it has become a scam
They can't find a real investor for 3 years now, and now are begging naive people for crowdfunding to pay their 250k salary
🤔

I really love the Aptera car and would buy one today
The company and the crowdfunding is the problem
I have research since 2020, and it is obvious that these 2 founders are not good enough to start a company
They did another crowdfunding scam with N-gen a heater that also makes electricity

🤣
They really fooled you

This company is a scam and their numbers are totally fictional and impossible

21 year and still no Aptera
The car is a nice idea, the company is a disaster
comment in response to

Yes me too, but starting low volume equals high price, i think there are enough people who will pay a high price to be early adaptor
If the car is good, and good reviews than you could go higher volume and lower price 👍

Scam !!
comment in response to

No, they are trying to get 60 million now which would take them up to production, but not really into production, for tha they need another 200 million
So 400 million in total
Actually if you want to start a new car company like this half a billion is absolute minimum, 1 billion is better
comment in response to
post
And they need 260 million at least
comment in response to
post
Yes, i bet they go bankrupt within a year
comment in response to

I think maybe they are in troubles, they did not sell many, the last money raise was a while ago
Also they are almost invisible on social media.
I like the idea but have some doubts about the founders of the company, i talked to them a few times and that was very useful, so i did not buy
comment in response to

And how about delivery time, i saw some people who had to wait 8 months for the bike while they already paid ?
comment in response to
post
After a year of owning a Mokumono what's your experience, do they give good warranty, did you have any problems
comment in response to
post
Their plans and price wad unrealistic from the start
50k is the minimum price for the Aptera for the first 2 years of production, anything less and they will make a loss on every car made
I predicted this in 2020, not that hard
Now it has become a total scam
comment in response to
post
If they go ipo buy short and with that money you can have full solar on your house and any regular ev you want to buy
Wait buying a aptera car until all the bugs are fixed
comment in response to
post
The timeline has shifted again, now it's somewhere in 2026
The first year it would be a miracle if they reach 1000 delivered
So if you are not one of the 3,000 that have paid extra you are looking at middle or end of 2027
comment in response to
post
The test was downhill (7,000 foot) and they did not say at what speed
So in real life it might be closer to 5 miles per kwh...

Sadly not in the positive sense, both companies have founders that are not good enough
