I lived in Yancey county for 15 years, and know two of the people mentioned. The trauma suffered is unimaginable. This article captures some of the terror of those days.

After the dressing down you have her about being over budget? Shameless

FEMA response to Helene in WNC was inadequate. More agents were needed, especially in heavily damaged Yancey County where the local government truly didn’t know what to do. Y’all don’t know devastation until you’ve lived it and tried to rebuild. It’s horrible. And now it’s going to get worse.

As a property owner in WNC, I’m livid. We just restored electricity to my building and have yet to get water restored. The need is so great. I’m beyond disgusted

Screw you, Mike Johnson. I’m on Medicaid since I lost my rental income to the floods in WNC and am spending my days rehabbing my historic building. That IS my job right now. Dignity, my ass.

Beyond Asheville and Buncombe County are more devastated counties. Yancey in particular has the most widespread damage. The old building I own took in 6’ of flood water and every single bit of clean up has happened due to volunteers. The government on all levels has failed us.

It was a rhetorical question.
These idiots act like they are invincible, and as they’re not held to account, they’ll continue to do so.
And so far, nobody is holding them to account so here we are.

Please please do something! We’ve been shocked and now we’re joking about the absurdity, but please Democrats, do something! This has to stop. They have no idea what they’re doing!
