Blaming Toronto voters for Ford’s re-election is a bit of a stretch.

Home Depot wishes it could be even half as great as Canadian Tire. (And American hot dog eaters don't even know what they are missing with Schneider's hot dogs. )

Canadian ensign is there. Maple Leaf Canadian flag didn’t exist ‘til 65.

What makes Representative Crockett's "candidacy" so bold is she is not, by a long shot, the "most senior member" of the Committee on Oversight and Reform. By convention, I believe committee status normally reflects seniority on the committee.

Hi Barbara. It's the term used to refer to the most senior member of the party that is not in power. (I think the closest Canadian analog would be when the Official Opposition identifies "shadow" cabinet members.)

Right? Like it isn't rocket science that the best way to get "that film look" is to shoot film! P.S. Your delightful post reminds me that I want/need to add a Canon Demi to my collection! Cheers, Doug.

And "5. Don't bother contacting the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, because they probably don't care under Doug Ford's "leadership"."

While he wasn't explicit about it during most recent campaign, anyone paying even slight attention to how he has governed thus far would be safe assuming he would take a similar path. (Perhaps real question is why so many Ontario voters turned a blind eye?)

I was especially happy to learn you studied this at TMU, as my son graduated from the Radio/Television Arts program there, and has gone on to have a very fulfilling career doing pretty much exactly what he dreamed of.

Your point is well taken, though somehow I doubt « Trudeau stepped aside » would have same impact on Democratic fortunes.

To learn more about other programs putting children on a pathway to prosperity that are facing draconian federal budget cuts (notably #FoodStamps / #SNAP), the @centeronbudget.bsky.social is always a reliable and highly credible go-to resource. www.cbpp.org/research/pov...

Lots of avenues to do so, but the National Head Start Association makes it easy here: nhsa.org/advocacy-act.... @bbissen.bsky.social #ProtectHeadStart #SpeakUpForKids

Please consider contacting your Congressional Delegation to strongly urge them to pull out all possible stops to prevent cuts to Head Start, that would disproportionately hurt vulnerable communities, denying lower income children from getting the early educational boost they need to thrive.

As others have said, "hard pass". BUT, super curious to know why you've chosen to merge Saskatchewan and Alberta but left each Maritime province intact? (And if merging western provinces is on the table, wouldn't Manitoba and Saskatchewan make more sense? (As my foreparents in Lloydminster, cringe))

On the off chance that you're open to discovering how far off you are in this assessment, see the following: data.worldbank.org/indicator/SE...
Share of Canadians with at least Bachelor's as % of those 25+: 33%
Share of Americans with at least Bachelor's as % of those 25+: 39%

I think it's fair to say that we also strongly dislike the fact that a substantial minority of Americans deliberately chose this government, knowing that many of its actions would cause great harm to people. For far too many, that has been a FEATURE (not a bug) of MAGA supporters.

Sensible, yes, but also deeply flawed. It's time to move on from the First Past the Post system.
